The latest episodes of Taxi Driver Season 3 saw the Rainbow team take down a cruel online scam operation, only to uncover a much larger and more dangerous criminal enterprise based on a remote island. The story began with a personal vendetta and escalated into a life-threatening investigation, marking a critical turning point in the season’s plot.
Episodes 11 and 12, which aired on December 26 and 27, 2025, were highly successful. Episode 12 achieved a peak viewership rating of 19.1%, setting a new record for the series. The episodes shifted focus from physical villains to the terrifying reality of digital crime, demonstrating how online scams can destroy lives without a single physical confrontation.
The Personal Case That Started It All
The investigation began when Choi Kyung-koo was approached by a woman named Maria. She asked for help for her eight-year-old adopted sister, Park Da-som. The young girl had saved 98 dollars to buy leather gloves for her sick father from a second-hand app, but the package she received contained only a brick.
Kyung-koo initially tried to handle the case alone, a decision that backfired. He not only failed to find the scammer but was tricked out of 5,000 dollars of his own money. This personal loss forced him to return to the Rainbow team and admit he needed their help, officially launching their mission.
A Victim’s Harrowing Story of Loss
While tracking a lead, Kim Do-gi and Ahn Go-eun found an unconscious woman in a home. They rushed her to the hospital, where she shared a devastating story. She had been pregnant and was scammed while buying baby items online. After the police dismissed her case, she tried to expose the scammer on community boards.
The scammer retaliated viciously. They leaked her personal information, falsely labeled her as the scammer, and used her details to order massive amounts of food for delivery to her home, leaving her to pay the bills. The relentless harassment led strangers to target her daily. The overwhelming stress caused her to lose her baby, and her husband left her. With her life in ruins, she attempted to end it.
The Rainbow Team Sets a Digital Trap
With few clues, the team devised a plan to lure the scammer out. They posted on online forums pretending to seek highly sought-after tickets for a concert by the girl group Elements, creating fake demand. The bait worked, and a seller contacted Do-gi. This led the team to a low-level scammer, a young man operating from a study cafe.
Upon capture, the young man revealed he was just a pawn. He took orders from a boss known only as the “General Manager,” whom he had never met in person. This confirmed the operation was a structured organization, not the work of a lone individual.
Go-eun’s Dangerous Undercover Mission
To reach the General Manager, the team forced the low-level worker to quit. As expected, a new job posting appeared to replace him. Go-eun applied, posing as a talented teenage hacker, and successfully infiltrated the scam ring.
Once inside, Go-eun provoked the manager. She completed a fake ticket sale but sent the money to her own account instead of the organization’s. When the manager demanded the funds, she refused and quit. Enraged, he tried to harass her using his standard methodsโordering unwanted food deliveries to her address. However, Go-eun, anticipating this, calmly accepted and paid for all the deliveries, infuriating him further.
Her calculated defiance worked. The General Manager, losing control, decided to confront her in person. Go-eun easily overpowered the young man, and Do-gi followed him to his hideout.
A Shocking Execution and a Larger Conspiracy
At the hideout, Do-gi found rooms full of products that had been scammed from victims. The Rainbow team worked to return these items to their rightful owners. When confronted, the General Manager showed no remorse. He bragged that he was just following a business model provided by professionals.
“If you have seed money, I can introduce you to professionals who can set up any crime,” he told Do-gi, revealing he was merely a customer of a larger service.
Immediately after this boast, a delivery package arrived for the manager. Despite Do-gi’s warning, he opened it. The package exploded, killing him instantly. Do-gi rushed outside and saw a speeding fishing truck fleeing the sceneโthe same type of vehicle shown dumping a body into the ocean at the start of Episode 11.

Journey to the Ominous Samheung Island
The team traced the truck and other clues to a remote location called Samheung Island. Sensing a major lead, Do-gi and CEO Jang Sung-chul traveled there, posing as fishermen.
From the moment they arrived, they felt watched and unwelcome. The islanders, including a police officer, a photographer, and an innkeeper, were outwardly polite but deeply suspicious of the outsiders. Do-gi noted that the decorative lanterns at the local temple, Samheungsa, looked oddly like accounting ledgers.
That night, a fisherman entered their room uninvited, carrying a bucket of bloody fish. The innkeeper dismissed their concerns. The next morning, they saw the fisherman, the photographer, and the police officer all leaving the island together on a boat.
Uncovering the Island’s Dark Secret
Seizing the chance while the islanders were away, Do-gi returned alone to the temple. Inside a hidden room, he made a chilling discovery. He found stacks of fake passports, government IDs, and burner phones. Multiple monitors showed live CCTV feeds from across the island, confirming it was under total surveillance.
Most ominously, he found a pen engraved with “Judicial Research and Training Institute Prosecutors’ Alumni Association.” This item suggested the criminal network had connections reaching deep into the legal system and state power.
A Moment of Emotional Resolution
Amidst the escalating danger, a heartfelt subplot concluded. Choi Kyung-koo finally obtained the pair of leather gloves and gave them to young Da-som. Overjoyed, she called him her hero and gave the gloves to her father. Watching this, a tearful Kyung-koo was comforted by Maria, providing a poignant moment of closure before the next storm.
The episodes established that the Rainbow team is no longer just fighting individual criminals. They have stumbled upon a syndicate that commercializes crime itself, offering scam setups and new identities from a fortified island base. The discovery on Samheung Island sets the stage for their most dangerous confrontation yet.
