A pilot who shot to fame after winning a $2.4 million private jet in a MrBeast YouTube challenge found himself in the middle of an international drug investigation. Jabari Brown, known online as Captain Treezy, was detained in Paraguay over the weekend after authorities discovered a large amount of marijuana on a private aircraft he was co-piloting. Prosecutors later cleared him and let him go.

From Winning a Jet to Facing Questions

Brown became famous in December 2025. He took part in the MrBeast challenge called “100 Pilots Fight For A Private Jet” and won a Hawker 400XP aircraft. At only 20 years old, he beat 99 other pilots. He wanted to use the plane to start his own charter business. His win went viral, and millions of people watched his story online. But the plane from the MrBeast challenge has nothing to do with the events in Paraguay.

What Happened in Paraguay

Paraguay’s anti-drug agency, SENAD, carried out an operation at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport near Asunciรณn. The team found a Bombardier Challenger 604 private jet. The aircraft had arrived from Miami and made a stop in Panama City before landing in Paraguay. Inside the plane, officers discovered 261.6 kilograms (about 577 pounds) of marijuana. The drug had high levels of THC and was worth around $3.6 million.

The marijuana was hidden inside black bags made to look like musical instrument cases. Three American passengers told officials they were carrying music equipment. But the inspection showed something else.

Who Else Was Involved

Three other Americans got arrested and later charged with international drug trafficking. They are Marisol Rivas, 39, from New York; Troy Anthony Vasquez, 42, from Florida; and David Thomas Wise, 58, from California. The main pilot of the aircraft was Keith Siilats, a 47-year-old from Estonia. He co-founded the US micromobility company Bolt Mobility. According to authorities, Siilats left Paraguay before the operation. He could not be found when officers moved in.

Why Brown Got Released

Brown was the co-pilot on the flight. He got detained at a hotel in Asunciรณn on Saturday night. But prosecutors looked at the evidence and decided he had no part in the drug operation. Ingrid Cubilla, the lead prosecutor, said Brown provided information about his hiring as a service provider. That information matched records from aviation authorities.

He cooperated fully with officials and had no knowledge of what the passengers were carrying. Because of this, they released him. The other three remain charged with international drug trafficking and possession of drugs.

Brown Speaks Out After Release

After getting free, Brown shared his feelings on Instagram. He posted two messages to his followers.

โ€œYou may not know why now, but youโ€™ll understand later has been a scripture I leaned on for years and it has come to the front line of my life again,โ€ he wrote. โ€œAnybody who knows me knows who I truly am along with what I would and wouldnโ€™t do.โ€

โ€œI have come to learn that there are a lot of evil and selfish people in this world who care about no one but themselves and donโ€™t care how their actions can affect others who are completely clueless to their motives.โ€

These posts got thousands of reactions from fans and followers. Many people showed support for the young pilot. Some expressed shock that he got caught up in such a serious situation.

What the Officials Said

Jalil Rachid, who heads Paraguayโ€™s anti-drug ministry, explained why Brown walked free. He told reporters that prosecutors believed Brown had โ€œno participation or knowledge of the cargo.โ€ The investigation continues. Authorities want to find Keith Siilats, the main pilot who left the country. They also want to know exactly where the drugs came from and where they were going. Reports say the marijuana was likely headed to Brazil, where it could sell for about $14,000 per kilogram.

The three Americans in custody could face serious time in a Paraguayan prison if found guilty. International drug trafficking charges carry heavy sentences in the country.

A Wild Turn of Events

For Jabari Brown, the past six months have been a roller coaster. He went from an unknown pilot to a viral winner of a multi-million dollar jet. Then he became a trending topic again for something completely different. But unlike the other people on that flight, he is now free and cleared of any crime. The Hawker 400XP he won from MrBeast sits separate from this whole case. Brown has not said publicly if he still plans to start his charter business. For now, he appears to be focused on clearing his name and moving forward.
