Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has previously raised concerns about potential false information being spread at a press conference organized by the late Kim Sae Ron’s family. The event, scheduled for May 7, 2025, aims to reveal new allegations against the actor.
Gold Medalist, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, previously released a statement expressing worry over the press conference hosted by Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) and Kim Sae Ron’s family. They warned against the spread of unverified claims, stating it could harm the actor’s reputation.
“Following their previous press conference, we have serious concerns about the continued spread of false information related to Kim Soo Hyun. We sincerely ask that when reporting on unverified claims, they first fact-check with us to prevent unfair damage.”
The press conference today, which will led by lawyer Bu Ji Seok and Garosero representative Kim Se Ui, claims to expose a “serious crime” by Kim Soo Hyun. The family alleges he dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor and pressured her financially.
Kim Soo Hyun previously denied these claims in a March press conference, admitting they dated but only after she turned 19. He has since sued the family and Garosero for defamation, seeking 12 billion won ($8.14 million) in damages.
The controversy has affected Kim Soo Hyun’s career, with brands like PRADA and Dinto ending partnerships. Some companies, like Homeplus, kept contracts but removed his ads. Two brands have sued him for 2.8 billion KRW ($2.09 million) over lost deals.
Fans showed support by sending trucks near the press conference venue with messages like “Reveal the truth and prove Kim Soo Hyun’s innocence!” and “We support your firm stance.”
Kim Sae Ron’s family insists their relationship began in 2015 when she was 15. They also claim Gold Medalist demanded 700 million won ($508,000) after she left the agency, worsening her mental health.
The press conference is set for 2 PM KST on May 7, 2025. Entry is restricted to verified attendees, with Garosero stating, “You’ll understand why once you hear what’s said.”
Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team has filed additional complaints against Garosero for stalking and spreading false evidence. The actor maintains his innocence, calling past allegations manipulated.
