For Taylor Swift, the record-breaking Eras Tour wasn’t just a concert seriesโ€”it was the most important chapter of her life. Now, fans are about to experience it like never before. The End of an Era, a six-episode docuseries coming to Disney+, will reveal previously guarded aspects of the singer’s world, including intimate moments with her fiancรฉ Travis Kelce and the immense creative effort that powered the global phenomenon. The series will debut alongside The Eras Tour | The Final Show, a complete concert film of the tour’s last night, creating a massive content drop for Swifties this December.

What to Expect From the Docuseries

The End of an Era is described as an illuminating series offering an intimate look at Swift’s life as her tour dominated headlines and captivated audiences worldwide. The project promises never-before-seen insight into what it took to create this cultural moment, featuring appearances from her band, dancers, crew, and family members.

The series will also include several of Swift’s famous friends and collaborators, such as Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch. As one report notes, the docuseries will show how some of their collaborative concert moments came to be. However, the most significant reveal appears to be the unprecedented access to Swift’s personal life, particularly her relationship with Travis Kelce. The trailer heavily hints that the series will explore their connection, showing moments of them joking on the phone, sharing a kiss under the stage, and practicing his surprise cameo during the tour.

An Inside Look at Tour Planning and Personal Life

Swift reveals in the trailer that the concept for the Eras Tour began forming long before the first show. She states, “I came up with the idea for the Eras Tour about two years before the tour started”โ€”meaning she began planning around 2021. Her primary goal was clear from the start: “I wanted to overserve the fans in terms of the amount of songs they were going to hear and how far I was going to push myself. My main goal is to give something to the fans that they didn’t expect.”

The trailer provides glimpses of the meticulous planning behind the tour’s famous surprise song mash-ups. One scene shows Swift explaining a complex sequence to her mother, Andrea Swift: “So it goes ‘New Year’s Day’ verse and chorus, ‘Manuscript’ bridge into ‘Long Live’ bridge, into the down verse of ‘Long Live,’ into ‘Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you,’ into ‘Long Live’ chorus but slowed down to half time.” After listening to the elaborate plan, her mother simply responds, “That’s complicated.”

The docuseries will also explore the personal happiness Swift found during the tour. Her mother, Andrea, appears in the trailer sharing her perspective on Kelce’s influence: “Travis Kelce, he brings a lot of happiness.” Viewers will see multiple personal moments between the couple, including Swift wearing Kansas City Chiefs merchandise while watching his games on TV, and a playful interaction where Kelce waits beneath the stage to greet her after a performance.

How This Differs From Previous Eras Tour Films

This isn’t the first time Swift has brought the Eras Tour to screens. A previous concert film was released on Disney+ in October 2023. However, The End of an Era takes a completely different approachโ€”instead of being purely a concert film, it’s a documentary series that chronicles Swift’s epic journey with personal and candid stories from behind the scenes.

The accompanying The Eras Tour | The Final Show concert film also offers something new. Filmed in Vancouver, B.C. during the final show of the tour, it featuresโ€”for the first timeโ€”the entire set of THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, which was added to the tour after that album’s release in 2024. This makes it distinct from the previous concert film, which was released before this album existed.

Release Schedule and Special Preview

The rollout of these projects is strategically planned. The first two episodes of The End of an Era will premiere on Disney+ on December 12, 2025. Rather than releasing all episodes at once, two new episodes will debut each subsequent week.

In a special preview event, ABC will air Episode 1 of the docuseries along with a one-hour presentation of The Eras Tour | The Final Show on December 12 at 8pm EST, giving viewers a broadcast television preview before the content moves exclusively to Disney+.

The production team behind these projects includes director Don Argott and co-director Sheena M. Joyce for the docuseries, while the concert film is directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Production in association with Silent House Productions.

As Swift reflects in the trailer on the significance of the tour, she shares, “This was a seismic, momentous period of time in my life and in the lives of anyone who this tour touched.” For fans who lived through the Eras Tour era, this docuseries promises to be the definitive behind-the-scenes account of one of music history’s most remarkable achievements.
