The upcoming anime adaptation of Haruomi Tomotsuka’s occult comedy manga Dara-san of Reiwa (also known as Reiwa no Dara-san) released a second official trailer on June 7, 2026. The new promotional video confirms the show’s premiere date and introduces additional cast members along with the ending theme song. The series will officially begin airing on July 2, 2026.
New Trailer Reveals Ending Theme and More Cast
The second trailer gives fans a fresh look at the anime’s animation style and humor. It also previews the ending theme song titled “Hinatabocchi”, performed by the artist REIRIE. The opening theme song was previously announced as “Dara DaraโกDancing,” performed by the main voice cast including Mutsumi Tamura, Minami Tsuda, Momoka Terasawa, and narrator Masaki Terasoma.
Five New Cast Members Join the Voice Lineup
The latest trailer revealed five additional cast members who will be joining the series.
Aoi Koga voices Amane Hasegawa. Koga is known for her role as Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love is War.
Tomokazu Sugita voices Naomichi Fudeki. Sugita is a veteran voice actor famous for playing Gintoki Sakata in Gintama.
Mai Aizawa voices Miwa Ikago.
Saori Hayami voices a character listed as Older Sister Shrine Maiden (Anemiko). Hayami is known for roles like Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer.
Hochu Otsuka voices Orochi.
Main Cast and Production Team
The lead cast for Dara-san of Reiwa was announced earlier in March 2026.
Mutsumi Tamura stars as the title character Dara-san. Tamura is known for playing Kobayashi in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
Minami Tsuda voices Hinata Misogiya, a middle school student who serves as a guardian of the mountain where Dara-san is enshrined.
Momoka Terasawa voices Kaoru Misogiya, Hinata’s younger sibling who possesses exceptional drawing skills.
Masaki Terasoma serves as the narrator for both the past and present portions of the story.
The animation is being produced by Asahi Production, with Masato Suzuki (known for Gushing over Magical Girls) serving as director. Koichi Kikuta, famous for his character design work on the KONOSUBA series, is handling character designs. Rei Ishizuka is composing the music, with Lantis handling music production.
Release Date and Broadcast Information
Dara-san of Reiwa will premiere on July 2, 2026 across multiple Japanese networks.
The “Reiwa no Jidai ni Daijลbu nano!?” (Is this really okay in the Reiwa era!?) version will air on AT-X at 9:30 p.m. JST. The regular version will then premiere on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m. JST, on BS NTV at 11:00 p.m. JST, and on Kansai TV at 25:45 JST (effectively July 3 at 1:45 a.m. JST).
English-speaking audiences will likely be able to stream the series on Crunchyroll, though the platform has not yet made an official announcement regarding streaming rights for international territories including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and India.

Story Background
The original manga by Harumi Tomotsuka has been serialized monthly on Kadokawa’s webcomic site Kadokomi and Nico Nico Seiga since March 2022. Yen Press publishes the English edition of the manga.
The story follows Dara-san, whose true name is Yamatagi Madara. Dara-san is a cursed deity with a half-human, half-serpent body and six arms. Despite this frightening appearance, the character is gentle and rational, having adapted to modern civilization. The story alternates between horror elements and slapstick comedy, with serious flashbacks revealing Dara-san’s tragic past while the modern-day segments focus on humor and unique character interactions.
The Misogiya family serves as guardians of the mountain where Yamatagi Madara is enshrined. Hinata, a second-year middle school student who prefers to relax whenever possible, possesses extremely strong spiritual sensitivity. Her younger sibling Kaoru appears quiet but has a very energetic personality.
