“There is nothing wrong in him going abroad and meeting his friend Ajith. What I would look at is whether he accomplished the purpose for which he went. He has said that he has brought in investments worth several thousand crores.”
The actor also pointed out that Vijay has claimed to bring in large investments. The Tamil Nadu government later confirmed that the UK tour secured ₹15,300 crore in investment commitments and employment for over 10,000 people.

Prakash Raj said the TVK government has been in power for only 120 days. He believes that is too short a time to judge its performance. He also said he had doubts about Vijay before the election but respects the people’s mandate.
“Vijay is the Chief Minister not only for those who voted for him but also for those who did not vote for him. He should be given more time. At least one year should be allowed before commenting on the performance of his government.”
He added that he is waiting for the government’s first Budget before making any judgment. The TVK government presented its first Budget on August 5, 2026, which focused on welfare schemes and infrastructure.
“I am waiting until the first Budget. There is no need to criticise them immediately. Just because we do not like those in power, we should not rush to criticise them. We must respect democracy and the people.”

Vijay travelled to the United Kingdom from September 11 to September 17, 2026, on an official visit to attract investments for Tamil Nadu. During the trip, he attended the Michelin Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone, where Ajith Kumar was competing.
