BLACKPINK member Lisa has revealed disturbing details about her encounters with obsessive “sasaeng” (stalker) fans during a recent interview, marking the first time she has openly discussed these invasive incidents.

In a 30-minute interview with Thai host Woody Milintachinda on February 27, Lisa spoke about her decade-long career and challenges. The conversation, part of her solo album Alter Ego promotions, took a serious turn when she addressed persistent stalking incidents that have left her feeling unsafe.
Airport Incident & Home Intrusion
Lisa recounted an incident in 2023 where a fan followed her from Incheon International Airport to her Seoul residence. After returning home alone, she discovered a stranger waiting outside her doorstep. The idol confronted the individual, asking them to leave, but later reviewed CCTV footage to confirm the intrusion.
“I felt genuine fear because I was alone,” Lisa admitted, emphasizing how the violation of her privacy impacted her mental well-being.
Taxi Chase & Physical Threats
Another alarming encounter occurred when a fan attempted to block Lisa from closing a taxi door using their leg. The stalker tried to force their way into the vehicle, prompting immediate intervention from security. These incidents led Lisa to temporarily have her female manager stay with her for safety.
Global Stalking Patterns
Lisa revealed that stalking isn’t limited to South Korea. Similar issues have occurred at her Los Angeles residence, where strangers linger near her property. The idol now feels uneasy in public spaces, stating, “I constantly worry about unfamiliar people approaching me.”
K-Pop’s Sasaeng Crisis
Sasaeng fans—known for extreme behavior like tracking idols’ locations or hacking personal data—are a widespread issue in the K-pop industry. Male idols like BTS’ Jungkook and EXO’s D.O. have previously shared similar experiences, but Lisa’s account highlights how female stars are equally targeted.
Calls for Fan Accountability
While Lisa did not blame genuine fans, she urged respect for boundaries: “Loving someone shouldn’t mean invading their privacy.” Netizens have since flooded social media with support, demanding stricter laws against stalking and better protection for idols.
Security Measures Intensify
Following these incidents, Lisa’s agency YG Entertainment has reportedly increased her security detail. Industry experts suggest using encrypted travel schedules and biometric access in idol residences to prevent future breaches.
