In a recent appearance on the show “Moneygraohy,” iKON’s Bobby finally addressed the ten-year-old controversy surrounding his diss track aimed at BTS‘ RM, originally released in 2014.

The track, titled “Come Here,” sparked a heated debate amongst fans, with many interpreting it as a personal attack. However, Bobby has assured fans that the diss was purely a creative expression within the realm of his rapping style.

“It was all in good faith,” Bobby explained on the show. “It was just the way I approached the song, part of my rapping style at that time.”

He further clarified that RM understood the intention behind the diss and responded in his own unique way, highlighting the respect often conveyed through friendly competition among rappers.

“Rappers like Kendrick Lamar, who I greatly admire, have done similar things in their music,” Bobby said, referencing Lamar’s famed diss track “Control.”

Bobby also revealed a touch of humor in his explanation, jokingly stating, “I didn’t go after EXO because I knew I’d be finished!” He then elaborated that he chose RM specifically due to his admiration for the BTS leader’s talent and dedication to rap music.

“I knew RM would respond with something strong, which is exactly what I wanted,” Bobby admitted, showcasing the competitive spirit often present in the rap industry.

The exchange between Bobby and RM eventually escalated into a full-fledged rap battle, further solidifying the idea that their initial diss was more playful than malicious.

“That’s just how rappers talk, we express ourselves through rap, sometimes even with playful disses,” Bobby concluded, hinting that some fans might have misinterpreted the playful nature of the exchange.
