Fans of big anime shows have been waiting for news about Solo Leveling and Jujutsu Kaisen. Both shows are very popular, but only one has official news about its next season. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is set to arrive in January 2026. On the other hand, Solo Leveling Season 3 has not been confirmed yet and might take longer. This article explains what we know about both shows and what to expect next year.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Details

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is officially coming in January 2026. The new season will cover the Culling Game arc from the manga. This part of the story is known for big battles and new characters. A teaser trailer was released in August 2025, showing Yuji Itadori and other characters preparing for the upcoming challenges.

The story continues after the Shibuya Incident, where many characters faced losses. Yuji Itadori and his friends must now join the Culling Game to save Tsumiki and fight against Kenjaku. The English voice actor for Yuji, Adam McArthur, said:

“Season 3, the Culling Game arcโ€ฆ I think The Culling Games could surpass Shibuya.”

A special compilation movie titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution – Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins will be released in theaters on December 5, 2025. This movie will include the first two episodes of Season 3 for early viewing.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Current Status

Solo Leveling Season 3 has not been officially announced. Fans were disappointed when there was no news at the Aniplex Online Fest in September 2025. The event focused on other anime projects, and Solo Leveling was not mentioned.

A producer from Aniplex, Sota Furuhashi, mentioned that creating the anime takes time. He said:

“Between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, Iโ€™d say letโ€™s wait until the next Olympics (2028) to see whatโ€™s going to happen with a Season 3.”

However, there is some hope. Netmarble, the company behind the Solo Leveling game, recently invested $1.4 million into the anime production committee. This could help speed up the process for Season 3. But for now, fans might have to wait until 2027 or 2028 for new episodes.

What Fans Can Watch in the Meantime

While waiting for new seasons, fans can watch the existing episodes of both shows. Solo Leveling has two seasons with a total of 25 episodes available on Crunchyroll. The story follows Sung Jinwoo, a weak hunter who becomes powerful after gaining a special system. The second season ended with Jinwoo defeating the Ant King and starting his own guild.

Jujutsu Kaisen has two seasons and a movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, also on Crunchyroll. The show follows Yuji Itadori as he becomes a jujutsu sorcerer and fights curses. The upcoming Season 3 is expected to be one of the best yet, with more action and story development.

Other Projects from Both Series

Besides the anime, both series have other projects. Solo Leveling has a live-action adaptation in development at Netflix. The roles of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-in have been cast. There are also video games like Solo Leveling: Arise and Solo Leveling: Karma in the works.

Jujutsu Kaisen continues to be a major franchise with manga sales and upcoming anime content. The compilation movie for the Shibuya Incident arc will be released in May 2025 in Japanese theaters.
