The newest series from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, has arrived. Pluribus, starring Rhea Seehorn, launched on Apple TV with a special two-episode premiere. The show presents a world transformed by a mysterious virus, where the biggest problem is too much happiness.
For viewers ready to dive into this new sci-fi drama, here is the simple, episode-by-episode release schedule.
The Pluribus Premiere and Weekly Release Plan
Pluribus debuted on Apple TV on Friday, November 7, 2025. The first season consists of nine episodes in total.
Unlike shows that release all episodes at once, Apple TV is using a weekly model to build anticipation. The season started with a double-bill premiere, giving viewers an immediate substantial look into its unique world. After the premiere, new episodes drop every Friday.
This schedule means the first season will unfold over two months, with the finale landing on December 26, 2025. In a rare move, Apple TV has already confirmed that a second season is in the works.

Understanding the World of Pluribus
The series follows Carol Sturka, played by Rhea Seehorn, a historical romance author described as “the most miserable person on Earth.” Her life is turned upside down when an unexplained virus spreads across the globe. The virus has a strange effect, transforming everyone it touches into excessively happy and optimistic people.
Carol finds herself immune to this phenomenon, making her one of the only people left who can see the world as it truly is. She is suddenly stuck in a surreal and placid new reality and may be the only one who can do anything about it. As the official synopsis states, “the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.”
Vince Gilligan shared that the idea came from wondering about a world where everyone was genuinely nice. He told Entertainment Weekly, “What interests me about this show and the possibilities for it is that people, I hope, can watch it and say, ‘What would the world be like if everybody got along?’”
Where to Watch Pluribus
Pluribus is available exclusively on Apple TV. The streaming service, which recently dropped the “+” from its name, requires a subscription to watch. New episodes will be added to the platform on the dates listed in the schedule.
The show reunites Gilligan with Rhea Seehorn, who received widespread praise for her role as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul. Gilligan wrote the lead role of Carol specifically for Seehorn, describing the character as a “flawed good guy” who is trying to save the world.
The series is set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, continuing Gilligan’s long-standing creative relationship with the city that served as the backdrop for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
While the show is a sci-fi thriller at its core, it also features darkly comic and philosophical undertones. Early reviews have been positive, with critics highlighting the show’s unique premise and Seehorn’s performance.
