After a intense season of competition, Elle Vosque, the drag persona of Evan Keating, has secured the position of runner-up on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Series 7. The Belfast-born queen was one of the four finalists in the grand finale, ultimately losing the final lip-sync to Bones, who was crowned the UK’s Next Drag Superstar. The season concluded on November 27, 2025.
The path to the finale included the emotional elimination of Tayris Mongardi, who was sent home in the semi-finals after a roast challenge. In the wake of the season’s conclusion, details have emerged about the bonds formed between the contestants, including the supportive dynamic between Elle and her cast mates.
Finale Outcome and Fan Reaction
The seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK culminated in a finale on November 27, 2025, where Bones was declared the winner. Elle Vosque, alongside fellow finalists Catrin Feelings and Silllexa Diction, competed in a final performance of the song “Money Shot” before the competition narrowed to a final lip-sync between Bones and Elle Vosque to Jimmy Sommerville’s “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)”. RuPaul ultimately crowned Bones, leaving Elle as the runner-up.
In Belfast, friends, fans, and fellow performers gathered at a watch party at Union Street bar to show their support for the local finalist. The mood was one of immense pride for how far Elle had progressed. Host Trudy Scrumptious expressed that the entire community wanted to support Elle, calling the representation “really exciting to showcase Belfast Drag at its best”.
A friend of Elle’s, The Only Sassie, shared his admiration, stating, “I adore her so very muchโฆ I just seen utter magic in her and she is so fabulous and so gorgeous and so genuine”. Another supporter, Aisling Campbell, noted that Elle is “the perfect representation of Belfast,” adding that she performs with “class but a bit of craic at the same time”. Despite not winning the crown, the consensus was one of celebration for her achievement.
Tayris Mongardi’s Elimination and “Mercy” Send-Off
Tayris Mongardi’s journey on Drag Race UK ended in 5th place during the semi-finals in an episode titled “Comedy is a Bitch,” which aired on November 20, 2025. After struggling in the “Karma is a Bitch” roast challenge, she landed in the bottom two alongside Catrin Feelings. Their lip-sync to Jessie J’s “Mamma Knows Best” resulted in Tayris’s elimination.
In a post-elimination interview, Tayris reflected on her exit, describing it as a “mercy elimination”. She shared that she believed RuPaul made the right choice, stating, > “I think at that point, Ru โ sheโs looking for a drag superstar โ and said, ‘Hey, do I think at this moment in time on Season Seven itโs Tayris? I donโt think so.’ And I was fine with that.”
She also expressed contentment with her performance overall, saying, “I honestly can really stand my ground and be like, yeah, Iโm so happy with everything I did on the show.”
Behind-the-Scenes Bonds and Romance
The season was notable for a behind-the-scenes romance that developed between Tayris Mongardi and fellow contestant Catrin Feelings. Tayris revealed in an interview that their romance sparked during rehearsals for the Rusical, while they were both dressed in ridiculous crocodile costumes. She joked about the moment, saying, > “Weโre literally kissing, and weโre not making out or anything, it seems crazy, but like kissing in these ridiculous crocodile hats having to turn our heads. And I was like, if my dad could see me now, pride or shame.”
When asked about the latest on their relationship, Tayris hinted that things continued after filming, revealing, “within the week of me leaving set, I was already Cardiff, right? So take that for you will.”
The winner of the season, Bones, was asked about this revelation in a post-finale interview and expressed genuine surprise. “I did not know that this was going on, but apparently people did know. When I found out, I was genuinely shocked. The thought of it happening whilst theyโre in that crocodile outfit is something that I donโt really want to think about, for sure.”
