Netflix has released the first teaser for Troll 2, the sequel to the hit 2022 Norwegian monster movie. The teaser shows the return of fan-favorite characters Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann), Andreas (Kim Falck), and Captain Kris (Mads Sjรธgรฅrd Pettersen) as they face a dangerous new troll threat. The film is set to premiere on December 1, 2025, and promises even more action, mythology, and destruction.

The Plot of Troll 2

The sequel follows the events of the first film, where a massive troll awakened in Norway and caused chaos. In Troll 2, a new and more destructive troll emerges, forcing Nora, Andreas, and Captain Kris into their most dangerous mission yet. They must team up with new allies, uncover ancient secrets, and use advanced weapons to stop the monster before it destroys everything.

The official synopsis says:

“When a dangerous new troll is awakened, unleashing devastation across Norway, beloved adventurers Nora, Andreas and Captain Kris are thrust into their most perilous mission yet. To stop the creatureโ€™s ruthless rampage, they must enlist new allies and delve into the countryโ€™s ancient history, searching for answers.”

Director Roar Uthaug confirmed that this time, there will be multiple trolls, each more powerful than the last.

Returning Cast and New Faces

The main cast from the first movie is back, including:

  • Ine Marie Wilmann as Nora, the paleontology professor.
  • Kim Falck as Andreas, the political advisor.
  • Mads Sjรธgรฅrd Pettersen as Captain Kris, now promoted to Major.

A new character, Marion (Sara Khorami), joins the team, though her role is still a mystery.

Bigger Action and Deeper Mythology

Troll 2 is set to be even larger in scale than the first film. Director Roar Uthaug said:

“With the sequel, we are aiming high โ€” expanding the scope, deepening the story, and creating a troll-sized spectacle like youโ€™ve never seen before. I cannot wait for fans to experience the adventure we have in store.”

The movie will explore more Norse mythology and Norwegian folklore, giving fans a deeper look into the world of trolls. The military also has new high-tech weapons, including UV-powered machines, to fight the creatures.

Record-Breaking First Film

The original Troll (2022) was a massive success, becoming Netflixโ€™s most-watched non-English film with 103 million views. It topped charts in 93 countries, including the U.S., U.K., and Norway. The sequel aims to build on that success with a bigger budget and more intense action.

Release Date and Where to Watch

Troll 2 will be available on Netflix starting December 1, 2025. The film will have subtitles and dubbed versions for global audiences.
