The horror-comedy series Widow’s Bay made its debut on Apple TV+ on April 29, 2026, with the first two episodes dropping together. Now viewers are counting down the days until Widow’s Bay Episode 3 arrives. The show has been getting attention for its mix of spooky island legends and small-town humor, led by Matthew Rhys as a mayor trying to save his dying community.

The series takes place on a fictional island 40 miles off the New England coast where most residents believe the place is cursed. Tourists have stopped coming, the Wi-Fi does not work, and strange things keep happening. But Mayor Tom Loftis does not believe in ghosts or curses. He only sees opportunities to bring money back to his town. Episode 2 ended with Loftis choosing to keep the local inn open even after some very unsettling events. That decision sets up more trouble for Episode 3.

What to Expect in Episode 3
Episode 2 ended with Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) facing a major test. Residents dared him to spend a night at the town’s creepy inn to prove that supernatural things were not happening there. Loftis, who refuses to believe in curses or ghosts, accepted the challenge and survived the night. But instead of shutting down the inn like some locals wanted, he decided to keep it open for tourists.
Episode 3 will show what happens next. The town is trying to attract visitors even though strange figures appear in the fog and ghostly sounds come from the historic hotel. One local character named Wyck (played by Stephen Root) talks openly about a creature called “the hag” that seems to be following Loftis. The episode title ‘Inaugural Swim’ suggests water-related trouble, which fits the island setting.
The show was created by Katie Dippold, who wrote the 2016 Ghostbusters movie and worked on Parks and Recreation. Hiro Murai, known for directing episodes of The Bear and Mr & Mrs Smith, handled the direction. Early reviews say the series does better with character comedy than with actual scares, but the spooky atmosphere remains strong throughout.
