Annette Bening Joins as Beulah Jackson
While Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are the stars, Episode 3 brings a major new player into the game. Oscar-nominated actress Annette Bening joins the cast as Beulah Jackson. She runs the 10 Petal Ranch, a massive operation that controls much of the land and business in Rio Paloma.
Beulah is not a simple villain. She is a rancher fighting to keep her family’s legacy together. Bening spent time preparing for the role by visiting real ranches in Fort Worth and learning about Texas culture. She said the character has an inner sadness that drew her to the role.

The Murder Cover-Up Gets Messier
Episodes 1 and 2 set up a dangerous situation. Rob-Will Jackson, played by Jai Courtney, killed a ranch hand named Wes. To hide the crime, Rob-Will dumped the body on Beth and Rip’s new property. Rip found the body and moved it to another spot to keep the police away from his family.
Now, Wes’s partner has reported him missing. The police are starting to ask questions. Beulah and her family are panicking because they do not know where the body went. Rip is stuck in the middle, holding a secret that could destroy everyone.
Episode 3 will likely show the pressure building. Sheriff Wade is circling the case, and Rip may have to make even harder choices to protect Beth.
Carter’s Romance Creates Problems
Finn Little returns as Carter, the young man Beth and Rip took in. In Texas, he has started a romance with Oreana, played by Natalie Alyn Lind. The problem is that Oreana has ties to the Jackson family. What looks like young love could actually be a trap or a way for the enemy to get close to the Duttons.

In Episode 3, Everett may become an important ally for Beth. He knows how the local business works and might help her find a way to fight back against the Jacksons without breaking the law.
