A social media influencer has been pulled into the headlines after Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on multiple domestic violence charges. Ash Kaash, whose real name is Ashaley Kaashh, is the woman linked to the NFL player as the investigation continues to unfold. While she has not spoken publicly about the incident, past social media posts and her relationship history have become a major point of discussion among fans.
Police arrested Jacobs on May 26, 2026, following a disturbance complaint in Hobart-Lawrence, Wisconsin. The 28-year-old athlete faces serious allegations, including felony strangulation and suffocation, along with four misdemeanor counts tied to domestic abuse. He was released from custody the following day, and no formal charges have been filed yet as prosecutors continue looking into the case.
Who is Ash Kaash?
Ash Kaash is a 28-year-old social media personality and model from Chicago, Illinois. Born on January 9, 1998, she built her online presence through bold pictures and lifestyle content on Instagram, where she has gathered 2.6 million followers. She also runs a business called Heaven Sent Nails, selling acrylic and virtual nail art.
Kaash started her modeling career around 2018 after finishing her studies. She later expanded into other platforms, including OnlyFans, to grow her brand. Her early Instagram posts show her ambition, with one of her first captions saying she wanted to become a millionaire someday.
Law enforcement has not officially named Kaash as the victim in Jacobs’ case. But social media users and sports fans quickly connected her to the situation because of her public relationship with the Packers star.
Josh Jacobs and Ash Kaash’s relationship timeline
Jacobs and Kaash reportedly knew each other for several years before going public. In a live stream earlier this year, Jacobs said they had been friends since 2021. He explained that they kept their relationship quiet because they started as friends first.
The couple made their relationship public in January 2026. Fans first noticed them together when Jacobs posted a beach video on Snapchat showing himself walking hand-in-hand with a woman during a vacation. Kaash later confirmed she was in St. Barts with Jacobs by posting swimsuit photos from the same location.
When asked about marriage in February 2026, Jacobs gave a careful response. He said, “Time will tell. You ain’t never seen me in public with a bi**h. I’ve been talking to her, and I’ve only known her since 2021. I’m getting to the point where I’m like, alright, maybe gotta figure it out.”
Ash Kaash’s dating history before Josh Jacobs
Before Jacobs, Kaash had a serious relationship with NBA guard Sharife Cooper. The two dated for two and a half years before splitting in January 2025.
After that breakup, fans linked her to several other athletes, though many of those rumors were never confirmed. She was connected to Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams after she posted a picture mimicking his signature claw hand pose. Neither Kaash nor Williams ever addressed those dating rumors directly.
Kaash has generally kept her personal life private, but her relationships with high-profile athletes have put her in the public eye multiple times.
The cryptic social media post that got attention
One day before Jacobs’ arrest became public news, Kaash posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) that many now see as a possible clue. On May 22, 2026, she wrote: “‘Tough love’ sounds like cruelty to me.”
At the time, the post did not get much attention. But after news broke about Jacobs’ arrest on domestic violence allegations, fans rushed back to her account to re-read the message. The timing lined up with the reported incident, which police say happened on May 23.
Kaash has not posted anything else about the situation since Jacobs’ arrest. She has also not confirmed whether she was the victim involved in the disturbance complaint.
What are the charges against Josh Jacobs?
Jacobs was booked on five potential charges related to the same incident. According to police records, the recommended charges include:
- Strangulation and suffocation (felony)
- Battery-domestic abuse
- Criminal damage to property-domestic abuse
- Disorderly conduct-domestic abuse
- Intimidation of a victim
Hobart-Lawrence Police Chief Michael Renkas said officers responded to the complaint around 8:37 AM local time on May 23. The investigation remains active, and police have not released further details.
Why no charges have been filed yet
The Brown County District Attorney’s Office confirmed on May 27 that no formal charges have been filed. District Attorney David L. Lasee explained that prosecutors need more evidence before making a decision.
“Our office has requested additional investigation, as there is reason to believe that additional evidence may exist that would impact whether criminal charges are appropriate, and what charges would be issued,” Lasee said in a statement.
The DA’s office noted that the standard for arrest is different from the standard for filing charges. While police only need probable cause to make an arrest, prosecutors must have evidence that proves guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Jacobs’ attorneys released a statement saying they are pleased he was released. “We encourage everyone to keep an open mind while the matter is fully reviewed. We remain confident that, once all of the evidence is gathered and evaluated, it will confirm that no charges should be brought against Josh in the future,” the legal team said.
NFL and Packers respond to the situation
The Green Bay Packers addressed the matter briefly. A team spokesperson said, “We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment.”
Head coach Matt LaFleur declined to answer questions from reporters on May 27. “I’m going to stick with the statement we put out as an organization and just let the process play out,” he said. The team later canceled scheduled player media availability following practice.
The NFL also confirmed it is watching the situation. League spokesman Brian McCarthy said, “We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club.”
Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III posted a message on X that many connected to the Jacobs case. He wrote, “Real men don’t hit women.” While Griffin did not name Jacobs directly, fans quickly linked the post to the ongoing situation.
