Paramount+ dropped the first-look images for Dexter Resurrection Season 2 on July 28, and one detail has everyone talking. Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, played by Jack Alcott, appears in a police uniform. The images show him walking into a New York precinct carrying a box of donuts. For anyone who watched the original Dexter series, that donut reference is impossible to miss.
The second season finds Dexter Morgan caught between two serial killers while dealing with a mid-life crisis. But the real conversation starter is Harrison’s new direction. The show is setting up something unexpected for the character who once shot his own father.
Harrison Morgan Joins Law Enforcement
The biggest surprise from the first-look images is Harrison suiting up as a law enforcement officer. Paramount+ confirmed that Harrison will be working alongside Fiona Mixon, a homicide-unit training officer played by Nona Parker Johnson.
Harrison following this path feels like a major shift. In Dexter New Blood, he struggled with his own dark urges. He even shot Dexter at the end of that series. Charley Returns After Season 1 Exit
Uma Thurman’s character Charley is back for Season 2. She left New York at the end of Season 1 after turning against Leon Prater, the billionaire serial-killer enthusiast played by Peter Dinklage. The first-look images show Dexter and Charley sitting together in a restaurant. Their relationship appears to have changed since Season 1.
Production and Release Information
Production on Dexter Resurrection Season 2 began in April 2026, with filming taking place in New York City. Showrunner Clyde Phillips returns as executive producer alongside Michael C. Hall and others.
A release date has not been officially announced yet. However, Phillips confirmed in a recent interview that the season will premiere in October 2026. The series is expected to return in late 2026. Season 1 of Dexter Resurrection is available to stream on Paramount+ with the Premium Plan.
The second season is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios. The show was developed by Clyde Phillips, who also serves as showrunner.
