Bollywood actor Shriya Saran recently visited the ISKCON temple in Mumbai with her family, reportedly to express gratitude after the release of her film Awarapan 2. While the actor interacted with photographers outside, her five-year-old daughter Radha Saran Koscheev became visibly uncomfortable and shouted at the paparazzi, saying she did not like being filmed. Videos of the incident quickly spread on social media, leading many fans to defend the child and ask photographers to respect her feelings.
Radha Refuses to Pose and Hides Behind Her Mother
The incident took place on Tuesday evening when Shriya Saran exited the temple premises with her daughter, husband Andrei Koscheev, and other family members. The paparazzi stationed outside began clicking pictures as the family came out.
The videos show Radha holding her mother’s hand and walking comfortably until she noticed the photographers. She immediately moved behind Shriya and refused to face the cameras. When a photographer tried to talk to her, the little girl yelled, “I don’t like it.”
Shriya Saran remained calm throughout the situation. She told her daughter, “Okay, you stand behind mamma.” The actor then posed with her family for the paparazzi while Radha continued to stay hidden behind her mother, avoiding the cameras entirely.
The child was also heard shouting and expressing her annoyance multiple times as the photographers continued filming. Other family members agreed to pose for pictures, but Radha clung to her mother and refused to participate.
Fans Ask Paparazzi to Respect the Child’s Boundaries
The video quickly gained attention on social media, with many users coming forward to defend Radha and criticize the paparazzi for not stopping when the child said no. People pointed out that adults should respect a child’s wishes, especially when they clearly express discomfort.
One Instagram user commented, “Why can’t we, as adults, respect a child’s boundaries and her simple ‘no’? The fact that she knows and expresses her boundaries so young says so much about her beautiful upbringing.”
Another person wrote, “Her daughter dislikes filming, she avoids it in many situations, one should respect that tiny feelings!”
Several other fans kept their messages short and direct. “People should understand and leave them,” wrote one user. Another simply said, “Leave the kid alone.”
The discussion on social media focused on the importance of giving children personal space when they do not want to be photographed. Many felt that the paparazzi should have stopped recording as soon as the child expressed her discomfort.
This Is Not the First Time Radha Felt Uncomfortable Around Cameras
According to reports, Radha had a similar experience a few weeks before this incident. She was accompanying her mother at an event when she accidentally dropped the lollipop she was eating while posing for photographers. Once the candy fell on the floor and she could no longer eat it, she started crying loudly. Shriya picked her up in her arms and comforted her.
Fans also noticed that Radha often appears reluctant to pose in family pictures shared by Shriya on social media.
Shriya Saran’s Approach to Motherhood and Family Life
Shriya Saran has always been open about her efforts to balance her professional commitments with being a present mother for her daughter. In a previous interview with IANS, she spoke about the lengths she goes to for Radha.
“You start doing silly things after becoming a mother. Like taking a midnight flight just to be back home in the morning, or rushing from a shoot because you have two hours free and want to attend their sports day.”
She also shared an incident where she went straight from a film shoot to her daughter’s sports day while still in her character look.
“I have literally gone straight from being in character to my child’s sports day, and people were asking me why I looked so serious. But what could I say. I had rushed directly from my shoot, in my character for the sports day. You just want to make the most of whatever little time you get with your child and family.”
