The wait is almost over for fans of the soccer anime. Aoashi Season 2 has dropped its main trailer, giving everyone a proper look at what is coming when the show returns on October 4, 2026. New Theme Songs Created Specifically for the Anime

The band 10-FEET is no stranger to anime fans. They previously performed the ending theme for The First Slam Dunk. Ai Higuchi also has a strong track record in anime music. She contributed the ending theme for Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 and wrote the opening lyrics for Bocchi the Rock!.
TAKUMA, the vocalist and guitarist of 10-FEET, shared his thoughts on the opening theme. He said he fell in love with the original Aoashi manga and has been following it through the anime. He finds the soccer perspective fascinating but is also drawn to the relationships between the protagonist and his family, friends, and the people around him. He feels honored to be responsible for the opening theme and described the song as very cool.
NAOKI, the bassist and vocalist of 10-FEET, added that some people might hear 10-FEET for the first time because of Ao Ashi. He is looking forward to those new encounters. He described the song as a high-energy spark packed with the feeling of a live performance and hopes it helps expand the world of Ao Ashi.
Ai Higuchi also shared her thoughts on the ending theme. She said that no matter how high you climb, there is always something higher to reach. Even if you become number one, the next time you start from the bottom of the next level. It is tough, but the joy outweighs the pain, and you keep climbing. She has always felt a kind of burning pain of longing for the world of Ao Ashi. She described the song as one for dream chasers who cannot give up.
Studio Change and Returning Staff
Aoashi Season 2 has seen a change in animation studios. TMS Entertainment has taken over production from Production I.G. , which produced the first season. Despite the studio change, a significant part of the key staff has remained the same.
Kazuki Yokoyama is directing the second season. Masahiro Yokotani returns for series composition. Manabu Nakatake returns for character design, joined by Asami Taguchi and Junko Yamanaka. Masaru Yokoyama continues composing the music. Kenji Iizuka remains the football consultant, and Shoji Hata serves as the sound director.
The main staff details were announced alongside the trailer. The production team has kept continuity where it matters most while bringing in fresh talent for the new season.
Episode Count and Broadcast Details
Aoashi Season 2 will consist of 24 episodes in total, divided into two cours of 12 episodes each. The first cour will begin airing on October 4, 2026. The show will broadcast every Sunday at 5:00 PM on NHK E-tele in Japan.
The first 12 episodes will cover the first part of the season. There has been no announcement yet about when the second cour will be released.
For international viewers, Crunchyroll will stream the new season starting October 4. The first season is currently available on platforms like JioHotstar and Netflix in some regions.
