Telugu actor Nani has written to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking permission to watch the premiere of his upcoming film The Paradise with audiences at a theatre on RTC X Roads in Hyderabad. The request comes just days before the film’s worldwide release on September 24, 2026. The Chief Minister responded by asking Nani’s team to submit a formal application to the local police station, while the state’s top police officer flagged concerns about Ganesh idol immersions and a past stampede incident at the same location.
What Nani Asked for in His Letter
Nani, whose real name is Naveen Babu, posted a detailed note on X (formerly Twitter) on September 22, addressing the Chief Minister, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Telangana police officials. He described himself as a “fan of cinema” who has loved watching films since childhood.
“For me, cinema has always been about watching it together with people who love it just as much as I do. And in Hyderabad, that experience has a special place at RTC X Roads,” Nani wrote. He added that he wanted to visit a theatre at RTC X Roads for The Paradise premiere show on September 23 and experience the film with the audience, “the very people we made it for.”
“I believe the ultimate satisfaction of making a film lies in sitting among the audience and experiencing their response to it. We will follow all the necessary protocols and safety guidelines in place. That will be our priority.” – Nani
The actor also assured authorities that safety would be the top priority during his visit.
CM Revanth Reddy’s Response and Police Concerns
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy replied on September 23, appreciating Nani’s respect for safety guidelines and his commitment to the film directed by Srikanth Odela. The CM directed the actor’s team to submit an official application to the designated local police station for review.

Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand also weighed in, pointing out that September 23 marked the 10th day of Ganesh idol immersions, with thousands of idols being immersed across the state, especially at Hussain Sagar. RTC X Roads, being close to Hussain Sagar, was expected to see heavy crowds and traffic.
The DGP also referred to a past stampede at Sandhya Theatre on RTC X Roads during the premiere of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4, 2024. That incident led to the death of a woman named Revathi and serious injuries to her son. Allu Arjun was later named as Accused No. 11 in the case and was granted regular bail by a Hyderabad court in September 2026.

Nani’s Reply to the Chief Minister
After the CM’s response, Nani thanked him on X and said he completely understood the importance of public safety, particularly with the Ganesh immersion arrangements underway. He stated that he and his team would not want to add any burden to the police department.
“We will respect and abide by the final decision of the police department. If there are any complications from a safety or crowd-management perspective, we will completely understand and be happy to skip the visit.” – Nani
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the Minister for Cinematography, also responded positively, stating that the government always supports Telugu cinema and artists. He advised the team to coordinate with local police authorities as suggested by the CM.
The Paradise Release Details and Ticket Price Hike
The Paradise is directed by Srikanth Odela, who previously worked with Nani on the 2023 film Dasara. The film is an action thriller set in 1984–85 and features a fictional community called the Savari tribe. Nani plays the lead role of Jadal Jamana, also known as Dhagad. The cast includes Kayadu Lohar, Raghav Juyal, Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni, and Sampoornesh Babu. Keerthy Suresh makes a special appearance.
The film has received an A certificate from the censor board. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Telangana Home Department has approved a special screening of The Paradise on September 23 at 6:30 PM, a day before its official release. Tickets for this special show are priced at ₹500 including GST. For the first four days after release (September 24–27), single-screen theatres can charge an additional ₹48, while multiplexes and special theatres can add ₹95 to existing ticket prices. From September 28 to October 3, the hike reduces to ₹23 for single screens and ₹45 for multiplexes.
The production house, Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas, has been asked to contribute ₹1 crore to the Telugu Film Industry Employees Welfare Committee. Theatres screening the film will also run awareness messages about the harmful effects of narcotics and cybercrime.

Ahead of the release, Nani spoke to the media about the physical and mental challenges of making The Paradise. He called it the most tiring film of his 18-year career.
“If there has been a film for which I have worked very hard in these 18 years of my film career, it is ‘The Paradise’.” – Nani
He also addressed rumours circulating on social media, clarifying that the film does not have an underwater sequence or a fight involving 1,000 people as had been reported. “There are a lot of action blocks. There are scenes that will give audiences a good high. The audience will feel the emotion in the violence,” he said.
The Paradise is set for a worldwide theatrical release on September 24, 2026, in Telugu and other languages. Advance bookings have already crossed $1 million in North America pre-sales, according to trade reports.
