In a recent Netflix YouTube video, IU joined co-stars Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon to react to highlights from the show’s latest episodes. During a scene where her character converses with Park Hae Joon’s character at a Chinese restaurant, IU admitted she drank real alcohol. She explained that the production team wanted her character to appear naturally flushed. They felt makeup might look artificial or too cute.

Challenges for Park Hae Joon
Park Hae Joon also shared his challenges during the same scene. He found it difficult to coordinate his actions while eating. He had to time everything perfectly, from picking up squid to slurping noodles, while maintaining the flow of the conversation. He joked that he constantly questioned whether he should eat or not, making the scene more complex.
IU’s Narration Effort
IU also discussed the effort she put into her narration as Geummyeong. It took almost two months to record the narration. She worked to find the right tone. Her goal was to create a voice that sounded like her but could also transition smoothly to the older version of the character, played by a senior actor. To differentiate between the ages, she kept Geummyeong’s speaking voice close to her natural lower register and deepened it for the narration.
