Lawyer Maeng Se Na decides to stand by idol Do Ra-Ik and fight his murder charge in a dramatic courtroom face-off with a powerful prosecutor from her past.

This episode follows Ra-Ik, the main vocalist of the group Gold Boys, who wakes up to find his bandmate Woo-Seong dead in his living room. With no other suspects, Ra-Ik is arrested for murder. His own entertainment company drops him, and public opinion turns against him. Se Na, a famously successful lawyer who is secretly Ra-Ik’s biggest fan, steps in to defend him despite major risks to her career.

A Lawyer Confronts Her Past Bully in Court

The case takes a personal turn for Se Na when she meets the prosecutor, Kwak Byung-gyun. He comes from a powerful legal family and is using this high-profile case to build his political career. Other lawyers are too intimidated to go against him. Se Na recognizes Kwak from a flashback showing he was one of the people who bullied her in school.

“I’m the type that actually enjoys doing irrational, crazy things. See you at the warrant hearing,” Maeng tells him, refusing to back down.

The Case Against Do Ra-Ik Begins to Unravel

In court, prosecutor Kwak Byung-gyun argues the case is simple. He states that Ra-Ik was alone in the apartment with Woo-Seong, and no third person could have entered. Se Na challenges this core claim. She reveals that two obsessive fans broke into Ra-Ik’s home just two weeks before the murder. She explains in detail how they learned his door password, waited for him, and disabled security features.

Se Na argues that if these fans could break in, someone else could have too. She also points out it was raining heavily the night of the murder, which could have washed away evidence of an intruder. Her arguments are strong enough to convince the judge. Ra-Ik is released from custody while the investigation continues, marking a first big win for his defense.

Do Ra-Ik Struggles with His Shattered Life

Even though he is free for now, Ra-Ik’s life is in ruins. On his way home, he sees a large public advertisement of himself that has been vandalized with the word “murderer“. His grief over losing his friend and the pressure from the public become too much. He goes out alone to drink and ends up passing out on the street.

The episode ends with Ra-Ik waking up the next morning, confused, inside Maeng Se Na’s home. It is not yet clear how he got there.

The Childhood Connection

A key part of the episode shows Se Na’s past. She was bullied as a child because her father was accused of a crime. The bullying was so severe it led her to a river, where she thought about taking her own life. There, she heard a boy singing and playing guitar. That boy was a young Do Ra-Ik.

He gave her his cap and let her listen to a song he wrote, telling her it helped him during his own difficult times. This act of kindness gave Se Na hope. She later discovered that boy became the idol Do Ra-Ik and has been his devoted fan ever since. This deep personal history is why she is so determined to believe in his innocence now.
