The hit prank comedy series is back with a new setting, a new cast, and a new unsuspecting star who has no idea he is the center of the show.
Nearly three years after Ronald Gladden walked into a fake courtroom thinking he was serving real jury duty, Anthony Norman now takes the spotlight in Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat. The new season shifts from the courthouse to the corporate world, where Norman believes he has been hired as a temp worker for a hot sauce company’s annual retreat. What he does not know is that every single person around him is an actor, and every chaotic situation is carefully planned.
The first three episodes premiered on Prime Video on March 20, 2026, with the remaining five episodes rolling out over the following two Fridays. Episode 4 and 5 arrived on March 27, and the final three episodes will drop on April 3, 2026.
Who Is Anthony Norman, the New Unsuspecting Star
Anthony Norman is a 25-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, who applied for what he thought was a legitimate temp job at a company called Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce. The show’s producers found him through a casting process where they specifically looked for someone who had not seen the first season of Jury Duty. According to executive producer Todd Schulman, that search was not as difficult as it might sound. “The show was very popular, all things relative, but we don’t live in a monoculture. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh my God, this is a needle in a haystack. The one guy who hasn’t seen the show!’”
Executive producer Anthony King added that during casting, they asked candidates about their TV watching habits. Norman was a strong fit because he does not watch much television. In the trailer, Norman is shown recording a video outside what he thinks is his new workplace, forgetting the company name and having to look up at the building to remember it. “I’m basically here to do whatever they need me to do,” he tells the camera.
What Is the Setup for Company Retreat
The season places Norman as a temp worker brought in to help organize the annual company retreat for Rockin’ Grandma’s Hot Sauce, a family-owned business. The company is run by CEO Doug Womack, played by Jerry Hauck, who plans to pass control to his son Dougie Jr., played by Alex Bonifer. Dougie Jr. is described as a lovable nepo baby who recently returned from a failed music career in Jamaica and now sports bleached blonde hair.
Norman travels with his fake coworkers to Oak Canyon Ranch for what he believes is a week of team-building exercises, motivational speakers, a talent show, and even a group ASMR session. The situation escalates when Doug considers selling the company to an outside investor, creating tension that pulls Norman deeper into the story.
In one moment captured in the trailer, Norman tells the camera with complete sincerity: “I real-life feel like I’m on a TV show… but this is not something that you can just make up.”
Who Makes Up the Cast Surrounding Norman
The ensemble of actors surrounding Norman includes several experienced comedians and improvisers. Alex Bonifer, known for Kevin Can Fk Himself, plays Dougie Jr., the bumbling son trying to prove himself to his father. Bonifer revealed that he bleached his hair specifically for the role, using two different shades to create a look that appeared unkempt and lacking follow-through. “I was actually pretty particular that we use two or three different colors of bleach, two different tones, and it was really important that it wasn’t all the way done to show there’s no follow through, there’s no upkeep,” he explained in an interview.
Other cast members include Jerry Hauck (Saving Mr. Banks) as Doug Sr., Ryan Perez as HR manager Kevin, LaNisa Renee Frederick as distribution chief Jackie, Marc-Sully Saint-Fleur as snack-fluencer PJ, Rachel Kaly as web designer Claire, and Jim A. Woods as warehouse manager Jimmy. Wendy Braun plays Elizabeth Prescott, the investor from a private equity firm who threatens to buy the company.
Unlike the first season where characters were strangers meeting for jury duty, these actors play colleagues who have known each other for years, creating a deeper sense of workplace relationships.
What Are Some of the Most Memorable Moments So Far
The first three episodes include a particularly cringe-worthy scene where Dougie Jr. gives a presentation at a Client Cookout. He introduces a new sauce he calls “Jamaican Jerk Sauce,” but the label reads “Jamaican Jerk Off Sauce.” The presentation gets worse when a display shows the company mascot making an inappropriate hand gesture, and Dougie Sr. later reveals that the sauce is actually made from Taco Bell packets.
Bonifer shared that he actually called about 30 real Taco Bell locations during production to ask how many free sauce packets he could take. “Somewhere in Taco Bell’s phone call database, you can hear me asking those poor, sweet employees who had to put up with me, how many Taco Bell sauce packets could I take?” he said.
Another recurring bit involves Dougie Jr. kissing his father on the mouth, something Bonifer brought to the show based on his own family experience. He and Hauck totaled 100 on-camera kisses over the course of filming, with additional “shadow kisses” done off-camera to maintain consistency.
How Does the Show Protect Its Unsuspecting Star
The producers take steps to ensure Norman’s well-being throughout the experience. Professional therapists are on standby to check in on him, and the production team constantly monitors how he is doing. Executive producer Anthony King explained that they are “very cognizant” of making the experience positive for their unsuspecting lead.
Since the first season has been widely available, Norman also had the option to watch it after filming to understand what he had been part of. Schulman noted that this allows him to see “he doesn’t have to be worried that he’s the butt of the joke.”
The Daily Beast’s review praised the show’s approach, calling Norman “about the nicest person alive” and noting that the series becomes “a tribute to his excellence as an employee, a friend, and a person.” The review added that by the end, Norman “comes out looking so fantastic that the show serves as perhaps the most persuasive ‘hire me!’ advertisement in TV history.”
