Social media personality and influencer boxer Nurideen Shabazz, known online as DeenTheGreat, was arrested in Miami-Dade County on a felony attempted robbery charge following a dispute aboard a yacht in Miami Beach. The 25-year-old streamer was booked early Wednesday morning at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

What Happened During the Yacht Party

Police responded to a call on the 200 block of North Shore Drive after reports that a woman had been forced off a yacht. The woman, later identified as Destiny Aleman, told officers she was kicked off the boat by Shabazz. The reason? Other men had tried talking to her, and Shabazz had warned her not to pay attention to anyone else.

After Aleman left the yacht, she started recording the situation with her phone. According to the arrest report, Shabazz tried to grab her device. He held onto her forearm and attempted to snatch the phone away, leaving a small scratch on her arm in the process.

The yacht owner told police he had let Shabazz borrow the boat. He gave officers security footage from the property. The video showed Shabazz putting his hands on the victim multiple times while trying to get her phone. The report said the woman could be seen curling her body toward the floor to protect her phone while trying to get away from him.

The 24-Hour Livestream That Went Wrong

The incident happened while Shabazz was filming a 24-hour livestream with former boxing champion Adrien Broner. During the stream, Aleman was sitting with Broner when she mentioned that their conversation could get her in trouble. Moments later, Shabazz walked over and told her to leave.

Stream footage reportedly showed him grabbing her wrist while pulling her off the couch. After Aleman left the boat, she began recording Shabazz from outside the property. That is when the alleged attempted robbery took place. Officers said Ring camera footage showed Shabazz yelling for someone to grab her phone and stop her from recording.

The arrest itself did not happen on camera. Viewers noticed Shabazz disappeared about an hour after the fight. Broner continued the stream alone before ending it early.

What Shabazz Told Police

When officers stopped Shabazz after he got off the yacht, he told them he thought the woman had his phone. Police did not accept that explanation. He was taken into custody on a charge of robbery/strongarm/attempt, which is a felony under Florida law.

His bond was still listed as to be set at the time of reporting.

Not Guilty Plea and Lawyer’s Statement

Court documents obtained after the arrest show that Shabazz entered a written plea of not guilty. His legal team also requested a jury trial and asked prosecutors to share their evidence.

His lawyer, Richard Cooper, told TMZ:

Mr. Shabazz has had a target on his back for some time now by people wishing to make a name for themselves off of his hard work. The facts are incomplete so far and we ask for patience. We expect the legal processโ€”not social media commentary or clout-chasingโ€”to determine the outcome.

DeenTheGreat’s Online Career and Boxing Background

Shabazz built his following through livestreams on platforms like Kick, viral internet fights, and influencer boxing matches. He has hundreds of thousands of social media followers and has become a known name in the crossover boxing world.

The Tampa native turned pro in 2022 and has competed in multiple Misfits Boxing events. He has wins over Walid Muhsein and David Fogarty. His first recorded loss came against Amado Vargas in Dubai last year.

He has also been seen streaming with personalities like Tekashi 6ix9ine, Deshae Frost, and Adrien Broner in recent weeks.

Legal Consequences If Convicted

Under Florida law, attempted robbery without a weapon is a felony. If found guilty, Shabazz could face up to five years in prison, probation, and financial penalties. The state’s criminal attempt law says that even one clear action toward committing robbery is enough for prosecution, even if the theft did not work.

The case is still in its early stages. Police have not released additional details about what comes next in the legal process.
