The action-comedy anime Marriage Toxin is officially coming back for a second season. Following the finale of its first season on June 30, 2026, the production team confirmed that the show will return to Japanese television in January 2027. The announcement arrived with the final episode’s broadcast in Japan’s “Hi-Ani-Bal!!” programming block, reassuring fans that the wait for new episodes will be relatively short.
The story follows Hikaru Gero, an elite assassin from a family of poison masters who has no experience with romance. When his family pressures his sister to produce an heir, Gero decides to find a wife himself. He meets Mei Kinosaki, a skilled marriage swindler, and convinces her to help him find the perfect bride. Key Production Staff and Cast Returning for the Sequel
The core team behind the first season is returning to work on Marriage Toxin Season 2. Motonobu Hori will direct the anime again at Studio Bones Film. Kimiko Ueno, known for her work on the Ranma ½ remake, will once again handle series composition and scripts. Kohei Tokuoka will return as character designer and chief animation director.
The main voice cast is also coming back. Haruki Ishiya will voice the lead character Hikaru Gero, while Shion Wakayama will return as the marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki. Crunchyroll to Stream the New Season
Fans outside Japan will be able to watch Marriage Toxin Season 2 on Crunchyroll. The streaming service carried the first season with subtitles and dubbed versions, and it will return as the international distributor for the second season. Release dates for different regions will likely be announced closer to the January 2027 premiere.

The first season of Marriage Toxin aired from April 7 to June 30, 2026, with 13 episodes.
