Jeremy Renner recently discussed his experience working on the third installment of the Knives Out franchise during an appearance at the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF). Renner, known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared behind-the-scenes details of the highly awaited project, which is set to release in 2025.

Filming Wrapped in London

Speaking at the RSIFF panel, Renner confirmed that filming for Knives Out 3 concluded in London earlier this year. The actor remarked, โ€œWe were in London; we finished this summer.โ€ Highlighting the uniqueness of the upcoming movie, he added, โ€œItโ€™s one of those movies; if youโ€™ve seen any, theyโ€™re all differentโ€”different cast and different sorts of things.โ€

This new installment continues the tradition of fresh narratives and characters while maintaining detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, as the central figure.

Star-Studded Cast

The movie features an ensemble cast, including Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Mila Kunis, Thomas Haden Church, Josh Brolin, and Glenn Close. Praising the team, Renner said, โ€œDaniel Craig is the central character, and itโ€™s a great cast.โ€ He described the group as a โ€œkiller, killer, killer cast,โ€ emphasizing the fun they had on set and his confidence that audiences will enjoy the film.

A Blend of Humor and Mystery

Renner shared insights into the filmโ€™s tone and creative direction, noting the mix of serious storytelling with comedic elements. He explained, โ€œItโ€™s the great writers and directors on that; then there are these murder mystery comedies that are very serious but then turn into something ridiculous.โ€ He expressed optimism about the movieโ€™s appeal, suggesting it would resonate with a wide audience.

Release and Distribution

Knives Out 3 is a standalone sequel to Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and will be distributed by Netflix. The film will introduce a new case for Benoit Blanc, staying true to the franchiseโ€™s tradition of standalone mysteries. While an exact release date is yet to be announced, the film is expected to debut next fall.
