In a scene that has viewers talking, Yara Zaya broke down in tears during a private chat about her future with Jovi Dufren. The emotional conversation, featured in the Season 9 Tell-All for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, showed Yara admitting that her marriage is going through its hardest time yet. The couple, who met on a travel app and married in Las Vegas in 2020, found themselves at a painful crossroads as Jovi revealed he has considered divorce, a topic he discussed privately with fellow cast member Andrei Castravet.

This raw moment is part of the drama-filled, four-part Tell-All that concluded the show’s ninth season. As Yara confided in her friend Jasmine, she described a deep feeling of detachment and said that she and Jovi simply “want different things” in life. Despite these major struggles, the couple remains legally married, and Yara stated clearly that she still loves her husband and wants to save their marriage for their daughter, Mylah.

Jasmine Asks Yara the Difficult Questions About Her Future

The conversation took place backstage during a break from filming the intense Tell-All sessions. Jasmine, sensing her friend’s distress, gently asked Yara about the state of her marriage and the recent rumors about divorce. Yara, who had previously described the day as “draining,” became emotional as she tried to explain the problems they face.

“I think, me and Jovi just, like, you know, like every relationship have a hard time. Seven, six years, that’s the hardest time. And that’s the thing when we have. We want different things. How could we be happy together?”

Yara told Jasmine that there is a clear “detachment” in their marriage, with each of them doing their own thing separately. Jasmine agreed with this observation, pointing out that other cast members had also noticed Jovi and Yara sitting far apart and not speaking to each other during the Tell-All. Even with this distance, Yara expressed a strong desire to fix what is broken. She explained that she is willing to try anything to improve their relationship, not just for their own sake, but for their young daughter.

Jovi’s Confession: He Has Thought About Divorce

The tension between Jovi and Yara reached a peak on the Tell-All stage when Andrei Castravet told the group and the host, Shaun Robinson, that Jovi had spoken to him about divorce. Andrei suggested that Jovi had even contacted a lawyer. When confronted, Jovi did not deny discussing the topic, though he clarified he was not “100 percent serious” at the time and claimed he did not actually hire an attorney.

Jovi explained that his frustration stems from major life changes, particularly the move from Louisiana to Miami. He said he resents having left his family and friends behind, a sacrifice he made because Yara wanted to live in Miami. This move, which happened after their time on the spin-off show 90 Day: The Last Resort, has been a continuous source of arguments. Jovi admitted that thoughts of ending the marriage cross his mind during their frequent fights, and he also stated that Yara often mentions divorce as well.

Yara Calls Jovi Her Best Friend and Biggest Supporter

Despite the public arguing and talk of divorce, Yara’s private conversation with Jasmine revealed a more complicated picture of her feelings. When Jasmine asked if she would still try to save the marriage if they didn’t have their daughter, Mylah, Yara thought about it and said she likely would. Her reason was deeply personal.

Yara explained that Jovi is much more than just her husband. She described him as her “support system” and her “best friend”. Through tears, she shared how Jovi has been her biggest fan, especially as she started her own business selling dog accessories. He encouraged her to believe in herself, and she credits him for much of her personal and professional growth.

“I will try to do whatever I can do to help to save this marriage, to help and make it better. I want him to be happy. You know? And also, Mylah, she deserves to see her parents happy.”

Yara confessed that the idea of life without Jovi is terrifying and hard to imagine. She summed up their current cycle as one of constant emotional turmoil: “I cry and cry and cry and cry. And we fight and fight and fight”. When Jasmine asked the final, direct question—”Do you still love him?”—Yara’s answer was a simple and clear “yes”.

Where Jovi and Yara Stand Now

As of the end of Season 9, Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya are still legally married. Reports indicate that out of the eight couples featured this season, six are still together, including Jovi and Yara. Their story this season focused on their daily life in Miami, raising their daughter and a new puppy, and supporting Yara’s business.

However, the issues revealed at the Tell-All are significant. Jovi’s public regret over moving away from his Louisiana roots and his admission of contemplating divorce point to unresolved conflicts. In a social media post earlier in 2025, Jovi seemed to tease Yara, asking her to “admit” he is usually right about their decisions, highlighting an ongoing power struggle in their relationship. When a fan asked online if his marriage had gotten stronger over time, Jovi replied bluntly, “No lol it’s gotten harder tbh”.

The final episode of the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 9 Tell-All aired on November 30, 2025. All episodes of the season are available for streaming on Discovery+.
