The upcoming K-drama Undercover Miss Hong is set to bring a fresh blend of workplace comedy and investigative drama to television. Headlined by Park Shin-hye, making her return to television after eight years, the series will premiere on January 17, 2026, on the network tvN.
What is the Plot of Undercover Miss Hong?
Set in the late 1990s, the story follows Hong Geum-bo (Park Shin-hye), a cool-headed and elite supervisor for South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service. When suspicious money flows are detected at Hanmin Securities, she uses her naturally youthful appearance to go deep undercover. She assumes the identity of Hong Jang-mi, a 20-year-old high school graduate, and takes a junior-level job at the firm to investigate from the inside.
Her new life is filled with the chaotic misadventures of an entry-level employee, a sharp contrast to her high-powered real job. Her mission gets more complicated when she meets Shin Jeong-woo (Ko Kyoung-pyo), the ambitious new CEO of Hanmin Securities. Jeong-woo is a corporate raider who believes only numbers tell the truth and will use any method to reach his goals. He is drawn to Jang-mi, who bears a striking resemblance to Hong Geum-bo, a woman from his past.

The series features a strong ensemble cast led by Park Shin-hye in the challenging dual role.

The supporting cast includes the other residents of Dorm Room 301, who will be central to the comedic dorm life scenes. These are Kang Chae-young as Kim Mi-suk and Choi Ji-su as Kang No-ra. The series also marks the acting debut of Yuna from the K-pop group ITZY, who will play Hong Jang-mi, the lively younger sister of the main character.
