The eighth episode of Ang Mutya ng Section E Book 2: The Dark Side reveals a hidden scar that explains years of conflict. Titled “Brother,” the episode, which began streaming on January 22, 2026, exposes the violent incident that shattered the bond between Aries and his sister Jay-Jay. As Jay-Jay faces a terrifying external threat from a dangerous new character, her brother’s deep-seated anger and a painful confession come to light, changing the context of their entire relationship.
A Brother’s Confession: The Real Reason Aries Hates Jay-Jay
The central revelation of the episode is a long-buried secret Aries finally shares with his guardian, Kuya Angelo. He confesses that his hatred for Jay-Jay is not simply about neglect but stems from a violent physical attack. In a tense office scene, Aries shows Kuya Angelo a significant scar on his torso and admits, “Sheโฆ she stabbed me”.
Aries describes a traumatic past event where Jay-Jay, in an altered and unrecognizable state, stabbed him with a shard of glass. He recalls “her lifeless eyes” and the sound of breaking glass. This incident left him with lasting physical and emotional damage, requiring him to take constant medication. While Jay-Jay has no memory of the event, it haunts Aries every night and is the true root of his coldness toward her.
“You are her big brother, yet you made her feel neglected!โฆ She feels alone, and you weren’t there to comfort her,” Kuya Angelo tells Aries, pushing him to reconsider his blame.
Kuya Angelo challenges Aries’s perspective. He argues that by neglecting Jay-Jay for years as her older brother, Aries has already caused her immense pain. He suggests that this neglect could be punishment enough for the stabbing she does not remember, urging Aries to “try to fix everything before it’s too late”. This confrontation leaves Aries questioning whether he can ever let go of his anger.
A New Villain Emerges: The Yakuza Threat to Jay-Jay
While the family drama unfolds, a serious external danger is revealed. Kuya Angelo investigates the death threats Jay-Jay has been receiving and identifies the source: Ryosuke Sato. He is described as the 22-year-old son of a well-known Yakuza family in Japan and a direct rival of Yuri.
Sato has fled to the Philippines after a case in Japan and is involved with illegal gambling. His motive for targeting Jay-Jay is strategic; knowing she is important to his enemy Yuri, he uses her to get to him. Although Yuri and all of Section E are aware of the threat and are trying to protect her, Kuya Angelo admits it’s a difficult situation, stating, “I tried to find him through my connections, but that person is crazy”. This plotline introduces a high-stakes danger that goes beyond school conflicts.
Jay-Jay’s Fear and a Dangerous Phobia
The episode title “Brother” also connects to Jay-Jay’s ongoing storyline about her biological father. Aries uses a confidential file about their father to blackmail Jay-Jay, cruelly burning the last copy to ashes after she defies him. He tells her, “You’ve chosen your sideโฆ Now you’ve lost your chance to ever be with your father”.
This act of cruelty is challenged by Keifer, who confidently promises Jay-Jay he can find the information and connect her with her father within weeks. Furthermore, the episode hints at a specific vulnerability in Jay-Jay: a deep-seated fear of blood. This phobia is a key part of her character’s fears and is intrinsically linked to the show’s title, “The Dark Side,” suggesting a part of her own psyche she cannot control or remember, potentially connected to the forgotten stabbing incident.
Chaos in Section E: Sides Are Chosen
The episode is filled with emotional confrontations. Aries spreads a rumor that Jay-Jay is leaving Section E to be with her father, causing panic among her friends. Ci-N clings to her, desperately sobbing, “Don’t leave us, Jay! Stay here in Section E!”. This leads to a massive physical fight between Keifer and Aries, with Yuri and others struggling to pull them apart.
The conflict forces everyone to pick a side. When Jay-Jay finally shouts, “I’m sorry, Ariesโฆ but I’m not leaving Section E,” her friends cheer in relief. Her choice solidifies Section E as her true family, creating an even deeper rift with her biological brother. This public declaration against Aries’s wishes marks a definitive turn in their fractured relationship.
