The world of high finance is about to get shaken up again. Industry Season 4 arrives on January 11, 2026, shifting the battleground from the old halls of Pierpoint to a dangerous new game involving tech money, power, and a bitter rivalry between its two leading women. The previous season ended with the investment bank in ruins, sold off and rebranded, leaving its ambitious graduates to carve new paths in a changed world. Before the new season’s cat-and-mouse game begins, here is a full recap of where every major character stands and the betrayals that set the stage for the coming conflict.

What Happened at the End of Season 3?

The third season centered on the fight for Pierpoint’s survival. A takeover by the investment firm Al-Mi’raj was looming, creating a panic that exposed every character’s true loyalties and desperation. In the finale, the deal went through, and Pierpoint was transformed into Al-Miraj Pierpoint. The London office was marked for closure, and a massive wave of layoffs began, leaving almost no one’s job secure.

This corporate chaos was the backdrop for intense personal dramas. Harper Stern (Myha’la), having been fired from Pierpoint at the end of Season 2, was working at a new “moral” hedge fund called FutureDawn. She quickly schemed her way into a partnership with portfolio manager Petra Koenig (Sarah Goldberg) to start a new fund, Leviathan Alpha. In a final power move, Harper pitched a daring idea to financier Otto Mostyn (Roger Barclay): an all-shorts fund based in New York designed to profit by betting against other companies. Her goal was to leave London and its painful memories behind for good.

Meanwhile, Yasmin Kara-Hanani (Marisa Abela) spent the season under the shadow of her disgraced and missing father, Charles. A shocking flashback revealed the truth: Charles had fallen overboard from his yacht, and Yasmin, present on the boat, did nothing to save him. Harper helped her cover up this dark secret, but the shared trauma drove a wedge between the friends. Seeking safety and control, Yasmin made a cold calculation. She ended her turbulent relationship with Robert Spearing (Harry Lawtey) and became engaged to the wealthy, erratic tech CEO Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), a man under investigation for corruption.

Other characters faced their own reckonings. Eric Tao (Ken Leung), in a brutal act of self-preservation, betrayed his longtime colleague Bill Adler to the new owners, only to be forced out of the company himself with a large exit package. Rishi Ramdani’s (Sagar Radia) severe gambling addiction led to tragic consequences when his wife was killed by one of his debt collectors. Robert, heartbroken by Yasmin’s engagement, found a new purpose promoting a psychedelic startup and left for a fresh start in the United States.

Where Are the Main Characters Now?

As Season 4 begins, the characters are scattered, transformed, and ready for war in a new financial landscape.

Harper Stern is at a career peak but operating outside the traditional system she once fought to join. With Pierpoint gone, she is fully committed to her new venture with Otto Mostyn. Her plan is to move to New York and run her aggressive short-only fund. The official season description states she is “living the life she set out to have” but is about to be pulled into the orbit of a powerful new player.

Yasmin Kara-Hanani is now married to Henry Muck, securing the wealth and status she believed she needed. However, this marriage of convenience is far from peaceful. The new season logline confirms she is actively “navigating her relationship” with Henry, suggesting it remains a complex and strategic partnership. She is no longer a junior banker but a powerful figure in London’s high society, poised to use her new position.

Eric Tao is out of Pierpoint but certainly not out of the game. With a substantial financial cushion from his exit, he is a free agent with vast experience and a ruthless mindset. The Season 4 trailer shows him and Harper seemingly working together again, with Eric hinting at a grand, anti-establishment scheme.

Robert Spearing will not return for the new season. Actor Harry Lawtey exited the series, with reports indicating both the actor and the writers felt Robert’s story had reached a natural conclusion after his redemptive move to the U.S.. As Lawtey explained, a stage direction in his final script read, “On Robertโ€”transformation complete”.

Rishi Ramdani is alive but profoundly broken by his wife’s death, a direct result of his actions. His future at any reputable firm is questionable, and he must face the severe personal and professional consequences of his addiction.

The New Season 4 Conflict and Cast

The catalyst for the new season’s drama is the arrival of a “splashy fintech darling” called Tender, a payment processing company shaking up the London finance scene. This company instantly becomes the center of a global power struggle.

Harper is drawn to Whitney Halberstram (Max Minghella), the enigmatic CFO and founder of Tender. Meanwhile, Yasmin and her husband Henry are aligning themselves with the same tech world, likely seeing Tender as a key investment or ally. This puts the two former friends on opposite sides of a major financial battle. As the official description notes, “their twisted friendship begins to warp and ignite under the pressure of money, power, and the desire to be on top”.

“We might be standing on the verge of something great. But the work is ugly: Itโ€™s anti-status quo, anti-establishment, anti-power,” Eric Tao says in the new trailer.
Harper’s swift reply encapsulates her mindset: “Which part of that is meant to be a problem for us?”

The cast expands significantly with this new tech frontier. Key newcomers include:

  • Kal Penn as Jay Jonah Atterbury, the co-founder and CEO of Tender.
  • Kiernan Shipka as Hayley Clay, a fearless executive assistant at Tender.
  • Charlie Heaton as Jim Dycker, a financial journalist.
  • Toheeb Jimoh as Kwabena Bannerman, a trader at Mostyn Asset Management.
  • Claire Forlani as Cordelia Hanani-Spyrka, a corporate PR executive.
