Netflix has announced its lineup of international films and series for 2025, featuring a diverse range of projects. From Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” to the return of Benoit Blanc in “Knives Out 3,” the streaming giant promises a year filled with entertainment. The announcement also included updates on returning favorites like “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game,” and “Wednesday.”

New and Returning Films

Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein,” based on Mary Shelley’s classic novel, stars Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, and Mia Goth. Del Toro shared his personal connection to the project, stating:

“Over the decades, the character has fused with my soul in a way that it has become an autobiography. It doesn’t get more personal than this.”

“The Old Guard 2,” starring Charlize Theron, premieres on July 2. Kathryn Bigelow‘s untitled film features a star-studded cast including Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, and Gabriel Basso. Rian Johnson’s “Wake Up Dead Man,” the next “Knives Out” film, sees Daniel Craig reprise his role as Benoit Blanc. Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly” stars George Clooney. “Rip,” a crime thriller, stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

New comedies include “The Four Seasons,” directed by Tina Fey, and “Madea’s Destination Wedding” from Tyler Perry. Perry also has the second part of “Beauty in Black” returning on March 6, along with “Straw” and “R&B.” Lena Dunham has partnered with Netflix for “Too Much.”

Series Updates

“Stranger Things” will conclude with its final season. Co-creator Ross Duffer called it their “biggest and most ambitious season yet,” while Matt Duffer described it as their “most personal story.” A missing poster for Jane Hopper (Millie Bobby Brown) was also shared. The Duffer brothers are also producing “The Boroughs” and “Something Very Bad is Going to Happen,” set to release in 2026.

“Wednesday” season two has wrapped production and will release later this year. “Squid Game’s” final season will debut on June 27.
