From Season 4 Episode 7 dropped on June 7, 2026, and it delivered one of the biggest game-changers in the show’s history. The episode, titled “Best Laid Plans,” saw Boyd Stevens sharing his reincarnation theory with the entire town, Tabitha tapping into Miranda’s memories at the junkyard, and Fatima discovering she can actually control the Smiley creature. The episode ended with Kenny trapped on a bus and Fatima using her strange new power to save his life.
Boyd Shares the Reincarnation Theory with the Town
The episode kicked off with Jade and Randall trying to open the secret door Boyd found in the Colony House basement at the end of Episode 6. They could not unlock it. Jade believed the door could be accessed from the other side, which connects to the tunnels where the creatures live. He placed a talisman on the door for safety.
Boyd and Kenny searched for Henry. They found him drunk near the Colony House. Boyd took Henry to Victor’s room and broke the news that Miranda had been reincarnated as Tabitha. Henry could not process the information and rushed out. Boyd tried to explain things to Victor, but Victor seemed uninterested. Victor told Boyd he wanted him to focus on finding the Man in Yellow, because he felt that was a more urgent problem.
Boyd then gathered all the residents and shared the reincarnation theory openly. Bakta, Jade, and Randall shared their points of view. One thing became clear to everyone: they needed a plan to find the Anghkooey children’s bones and destroy them to break the loop. Kristi, however, did not trust Jade’s vision because it came from a mushroom trip.
Boyd argued that the secret door in the basement proved these trips were different. They were a window into Fromville’s secrets. He believed they needed to get access to the Anghkooey children and destroy them as soon as possible. Henry interrupted Boyd’s speech and made it clear he did not believe in the reincarnation theory at all.
Tabitha, Ethan, and Victor Find the Man in Yellow’s Car
While Tabitha and Ethan were discussing theories at home, Victor interrupted them. He wanted Tabitha and Ethan to come with him to the junkyard to find the Man in Yellow’s car. Henry, meanwhile, found some of Victor’s drawings and started having visions. He saw himself hooked up to a saline drip in one of them.
At the junkyard, the trio found the Man in Yellow’s car and Miranda’s car as well. Victor found a pouch full of teeth inside the glove box. Tabitha looked into Miranda’s car and tapped into Miranda’s memories. She saw flashes of Miranda’s time in the town. Victor panicked. He believed they needed to prepare Ethan for an upcoming massacre.
Victor explained his theory. When Miranda arrived in the town, she brought a girl and a boy. The boy, Victor himself, survived. Now, Miranda’s reincarnation Tabitha has brought a girl and a boy as well. Victor believed that meant Ethan would be the only one to survive this time. This upset Ethan, and Tabitha had to go after him.
Boyd Plans to Enter the Tunnel
Jade, Boyd, and Kenny continued their discussion about how to enter the secret tunnel safely. Boyd told Jade to create a layout of the tunnel using information from Tabitha and Victor’s previous trip down there. He also suggested Jade talk to Randall, because Randall understood the creatures’ movement patterns better than anyone else.
Boyd asked Acosta to form two teams. One team would search for the Man in Yellow. The other team would focus on solving the Colony House basement mystery. Meanwhile, Donna felt disappointed that Boyd had told everyone about the reincarnation theory and the dead children. She was also furious that Boyd had not yet completed Roger’s burial.
Boyd tried to change the subject to the totems and whether they could help kill the creatures. But Donna reminded him that even if they killed the creatures, the creatures could be reborn. The town always finds a way to keep going.
Fatima Can Control the Smiley Creature
The biggest shock of Episode 7 came at the very end. Sophia learned about the Anghkooey children and Boyd’s plan. She asked him if it could be dangerous. Boyd admitted they needed to take the risk. He shared that they would be using the totems to try to kill the creatures.
Henry kept hallucinating because of Sophia’s spell. Then the real chaos started at the Colony House. Kenny tried to attack a creature, but the totem did nothing to stop it. The creature blocked all access to the building. Kenny boarded the bus to get away, but the Smiley creature trapped him inside.
Fatima rushed to help. She used some kind of power to control the creature’s mind. The creature turned into a monster and got distracted. Kenny kicked it out of the bus and locked the doors just in time.
The episode ended on a chilling note. Fatima can control the Smiley creature. She can sometimes watch from the creature’s point of view and control its actions. This power could change everything for the residents of the town.
What This Means for the Rest of the Season
From Season 4 has ten episodes total. Episode 8 will release on June 14, 2026, followed by Episode 9 on June 21, and the finale on June 28. The show has already been renewed for a fifth and final season, so the mystery will continue beyond this year.
The discovery that Fatima can control Smiley opens up many possibilities. She might be able to help others enter the tunnels safely. She could potentially keep the creatures away while Boyd and Jade search for the Anghkooey children’s bones. But the town always fights back, and the Man in Yellow is still out there somewhere.
