The upcoming anime adaptation of Aono Nachiโs dark fantasy manga I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day (also known as Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai) officially has a premiere date. The series will hit Japanese television on July 7, 2026.
Alongside the release announcement, the production team dropped a second promotional video and a fresh key visual showcasing the main characters. The new trailer also gave viewers their first proper listen to the show’s opening and ending theme songs.
ReoNa and sajou no hana Perform Theme Songs
Singer ReoNa, known for her work on Sword Art Online and Shadows House, performs the opening track titled โAmore.โ The ending song โรternelโ comes from the band sajou no hana, who previously contributed music to The Detective Is Already Dead and Classroom of the Elite. Both songs are featured in the newly released PV.
Fans can watch the latest trailer on the official anime channels, which includes extended action sequences and emotional moments between the lead characters.
What Is I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day About?
The story takes place in a grim world where orphaned girls are raised as weapons for an ongoing war. The main character, Sheena Totsuki, struggles with the constant death surrounding her. She wants nothing more than for the fighting to stop.
Everything changes one night after her roommate dies. Sheena meets a strange girl covered in blood who smiles despite the chaos. That girl, Mimi Kagari, later shows up as a new student and becomes Sheena’s roommate. Rumors say Mimi is the orphanage’s secret weaponโan immortal who cannot die. Sheena now must live with someone who welcomes death while she tries to prevent it.
Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English and describes it as a dramatic yuri story where love grows even in the middle of bloodshed.
Meet the Cast and Crew of the Anime
Studio ROLL2 is handling the animation production. The director is Yasushi Tomoda, who previously worked on Girls Band Cry (Episode 10). Jukki Hanada, known for Sound! Euphonium and Bloom Into You, is writing the series composition and scripts. Kyoko Yufu serves as character designer, and Yukari Hashimoto (A Sign of Affection) composes the music alongside Michiru.
The voice cast includes several big names in the anime industry:
- Rie Takahashi (Megumin from KONOSUBA) as Sheena Totsuki
- Rina Hidaka (Milim from That Time I Got a Reincarnated as a Slime) as Mimi Kagari
- Asami Seto (Mina Ashiro from Kaiju No. 8) as Lizzy Seiran
- Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan) as Ali Maud
Yumi Uchiyama and Ai Kayano have also joined the cast as Fran and Omi respectively.
When and Where To Watch the Anime
I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day premieres in Japan on July 7, 2026. The first episode airs on AT-X at 9:30 p.m. JST (8:30 a.m. EDT). It will also broadcast on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11 at 24:30 JST (effectively July 8 at 12:30 a.m. JST).
Global streaming details have not been announced yet. Fans should expect platforms like Crunchyroll or other services to pick up the series for international audiences, though no official confirmation has been made as of now.

The Manga Behind the Anime
Aono Nachi started writing and illustrating I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day in August 2018. It first ran in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime magazine before moving to online serialization on PixivYurihime and Ichijin Plus. The manga is still ongoing, with eight volumes released in Japan as of early 2024.
Kodansha USA holds the English license and has been releasing the volumes in North America. The manga has gained attention for its dark setting mixed with a romance between two girls living in a war zone.
The anime adaptation was first announced in March 2025. There was a change in the director roleโTakudai Kakuchi was originally set to direct but is now listed as the creative advisor, with Yasushi Tomoda taking over as director.
