Maa Inti Bangaaram, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has delivered an impressive performance at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. The film, which released on June 19, 2026, collected Rs 41.79 crore globally in its first three days, making it Samantha’s highest-grossing solo-led film of her career.
The Telugu action family drama saw a significant jump in collections on its third day, driven by positive word-of-mouth and increasing occupancy across theaters. The film’s success marks a strong return for Samantha to the big screen after a three-year gap and establishes a new benchmark for female-led films in the South Indian film industry.
Maa Inti Bangaaram Box Office Collection Day-Wise Breakdown

The occupancy rates also showed a steady increase, climbing from 31.9% on Friday to 44.6% on Saturday and reaching 53.4% on Sunday across 2,965 shows. This upward trend indicates strong audience reception and suggests that the film is connecting well with family audiences.
Samantha’s Biggest Solo Earner and Career Milestone
Maa Inti Bangaaram has achieved a significant milestone in Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s career. The film has already beaten the lifetime collections of her previous solo-led films, including Oh! Baby (2019), which collected Rs 38 crore worldwide, and Yashoda (2022), which earned Rs 32.13 crore.
Director B.V. Nandini Reddy shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude for the audience’s response:
“For making this story your own, for getting everything we tried to say and for celebrating it โฆ.. this is truly the victory of the audience โฆ.. so so grateful. This win hits very different.”
The film also outperformed Samantha’s 2023 big-budget venture Shaakuntalam, which had a slow start at the box office and struggled to cross double-digit worldwide collections even after four days. Maa Inti Bangaaram comfortably doubled the opening-day performance of Shaakuntalam, which opened at Rs 2.70 crore net, and also surpassed Yashoda’s opening of Rs 3.10 crore net.
The film ranks as the fifth-best 3-day total for Tollywood in 2026, with a net collection of Rs 23.1 crore, overtaking Anaganaga Oka Raju (Rs 20.55 crore). When looking at female-led solo films in South Indian cinema, Maa Inti Bangaaram has collected nearly half of the lifetime grosses of benchmarks like Arundhati (Rs 68.5 crore) and Mahanati (Rs 84.5 crore) within just its first weekend.
Telugu Version Drives Box Office Success
The Telugu version of Maa Inti Bangaaram emerged as the primary driver of the film’s box office performance. On Day 3 alone, the Telugu version contributed Rs 9.50 crore net with an impressive 60% occupancy across 2,341 shows. This strong performance in the home market highlights Samantha’s enduring popularity in the Telugu-speaking regions.
The Tamil version of the film, released as Engal Thangam, added Rs 0.60 crore net on Day 3 from 624 shows, with 24% occupancy. While the numbers are comparatively lower, the film is gradually finding its audience in other southern circuits.
Regional box office breakdown shows that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed approximately Rs 18 crore gross to the total, with Rs 10.25 crore coming from the Nizam region and Rs 6 crore from the Andhra belt. Karnataka contributed Rs 3.75 crore, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala added Rs 0.80 crore.
About Maa Inti Bangaaram
Maa Inti Bangaaram is directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy and marks her third collaboration with Samantha after the successful films Oh! Baby (2019) and Jabardasth (2013). The film is produced under Samantha’s own banner, Tralala Moving Pictures, alongside Raj Nidimoru and Himank Reddy Duvvuru.
The story, written by Raj Nidimoru along with Vasanth Maringanti and Prahas Boppudi, follows Swarna (Samantha), a woman with a violent past who enters a traditional household after marriage. When a dangerous threat from her past resurfaces, she must protect her skeptical new family while keeping her identity hidden.
The film features an ensemble cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami, and Sreemukhi in key supporting roles. The music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Dharmendra Kakarala. The film has been awarded a UA certificate and runs for 2 hours and 34 minutes.
The film reportedly recovered its production costs through pre-release theatrical and OTT rights sales, making it a commercially viable project even before its theatrical debut.

Strong Sunday Performance and Positive Word-of-Mouth
The significant jump in collections from Saturday to Sunday indicates positive word-of-mouth and growing audience interest. The film’s ability to grow its occupancy from 44.6% to 53.4% on Sunday suggests that viewers who watched it on the opening days are recommending it to others.
The litmus test for Maa Inti Bangaaram begins Monday, as the film enters the weekday period. However, the strong weekend performance has already positioned the film as a commercial success in Samantha’s career.
Compared to other 2026 Tollywood releases, Maa Inti Bangaaram sits among the top performers for the year. While it doesn’t compete with mega-budget films like Peddi (which collected Rs 29.10 crore on Day 3 alone) or Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, the film’s growth pattern shows that it is building momentum rather than fading after a big opening, which is promising for its long-term run. The film’s opening weekend gross of Rs 41.79 crore is a significant achievement for a female-led solo film and sets a new benchmark for Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s career.
