Hollywood actor Tyrese Gibson, known for playing Roman Pearce in the Fast and Furious movies, called his recent visit to India a “life-changing” experience. The star shared his spiritual journey from Mumbai on social media, posting videos and photos of himself taking part in traditional rituals at a local temple.

Actor Compares His Visit to Martin Luther King Jr.’s Historic 1959 Trip
Gibson made a powerful connection between his journey and an important moment in history. He talked about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.‘s visit to India in 1959 to study Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolent resistance.
The actor wrote on social media:
“In 1959, Dr Martin Luther King Jr came to India as a pilgrim, not a tourist. He came to study the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, whose philosophy of nonviolent resistance forever shaped the Civil Rights Movement. Dr King would later say that Jesus showed him the spirit of love, but Gandhi showed him the method. That journey changed history.”
Gibson said his own trip follows that same spirit of learning and growth.

“I’ve always wanted to learn how to meditate to practice stillness, quiet the racing thoughts that sometimes bring anxiety, and pursue genuine peace of the mind, body, and spirit. That’s a lifelong journey.”
Gibson called his time in Mumbai a “spiritual sabbatical” that helped him become a better person. He told his followers that he felt so peaceful during the rituals that he could not move for almost 40 minutes because of the energy and vibrations he felt.
Star Travels with Childhood Friend and Thanks Mumbai Hosts
The actor said the trip meant even more because he came with his childhood friend Kenyatta. They have known each other since they were eight years old.
“Kenyatta and I have been best friends since we were 8 years old. He fed me, protected me, and his parents The Snowdens opened their home to me and stood beside me through some of the hardest seasons of my childhood and teenage years.”
Gibson said the trip was inspired by watching the lifelong friendship between two other people he knows. He called the experience a way to show gratitude to the people who supported him when he had nothing.
The actor also thanked his host “AMA” for the warm welcome. He praised the person’s work in rescuing and protecting animals, saying he truly believes this person could receive a Nobel Peace Prize one day.
“Thank you to AMA for welcoming me with such love. I am deeply grateful and honored. This experience was not only timely it was truly life-changing.”
