Tires will return for its third season on August 13, 2026, with all 12 new episodes dropping at once. The news came straight from creators Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben, and John McKeever during the “Netflix Is a Joke Fest Presents: Bill Simmons with the Creators of Tires” event at The Wiltern.
The comedy follows the staff of a struggling auto repair chain in Pennsylvania. Gillis plays Shane, an employee who constantly gives his cousin Will (Gerben) a hard time. Will runs the family business and tries to keep things running smoothly.
Season 3 Brings Big Changes for Will and Shane
The new season picks up with Will and Shane now co-owners of the Valley Forge branch. They are trying to keep the business going while their friendship starts to fall apart.
Thomas Haden Church returns as Phil Jacobs, Shane’s father. Church was a guest star in Season 2 but now appears as a series regular. The trailer shows Church’s character putting pressure on the cousins to fix their problems and save the shop.
The series films in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Gillis bought and built out a shop next to one of Gerben’s father’s real tire stores. The location was turned into a Hollywood set.
New Cast Members Join Season 3
Season 3 has added several new actors to the lineup. Rachel Blanchard will play Bonnie, Phil’s new girlfriend who brings her spiritual healing practices into the shop. Blanchard is known for her role in “The Summer I Turned Pretty”.
Garret Dillahunt joins as Thatch, described as the scary brother of another character. Dillahunt has appeared in “Fear the Walking Dead” and “The Mindy Project”.
Anjelica Bette Fellini plays Cara, a character with a direct and playful personality. She previously starred in Netflix’s “Teenage Bounty Hunters”.
Matt Walsh takes on the role of Claude, an employee at a competing tire business. Walsh is known for his work on “Veep” and received two Emmy nominations for that show.
Recurring Guest Stars Add More Laughs
Six actors will appear as recurring guest stars throughout the season. Dan Soder plays Frank, a classic car collector. Sofia Hasmik takes on the role of Lucy, a bartender who clashes with Shane’s views.
Billy Magnussen plays Taylor, a confident entrepreneur. Bobby Lee appears as Ricky, the chaotic son of a tire company boss. Taylor Misiak plays Jill, Shane’s ex-girlfriend from high school. Details about Jamie Lynn Sigler’s character have not been shared yet.
Show Wins Over Fans Despite Mixed Reviews
The show has built a strong following since its 2024 debut. The first season reached No. 2 on Netflix’s Television Top 10 within five days. It pulled in more than four million views in its opening days.
Fans have given the show high marks on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 1 holds an 86% Popcornmeter score while Season 2 jumped to 91%. Critics have been less kind. Season 1 received a 58% Tomatometer score. Some reviews called the humor “juvenile” and “lazy”.
Season 2 improved with critics, earning a 78% Tomatometer score. Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com said he felt “refreshed by a comedy that doesn’t aspire to do much more than make people laugh”.
Trailer Drops After Gillis Sets World Record
Netflix released the Season 3 trailer on July 23, 2026. The trailer came just days after Shane Gillis set two Guinness World Records. His show at Lincoln Financial Field drew 73,946 people and sold 77,047 tickets. That made it the biggest stand-up comedy event in history.
The trailer shows the cousins arguing about their personal lives and how Shane’s character looks in a collared shirt. The comedy looks sharper and the stakes feel higher as the business struggles continue.

Production Gets Support from Pennsylvania
The show received more than $6 million from Pennsylvania’s Film Production Tax Credit Program for Season 3. The state expects $24 million to return to the local economy from the production.
Governor Josh Shapiro has called for another $100 million in funding for the program. Pennsylvania Film Commissioner Gino Anthony Pesi said the show’s continued success shows producers have confidence in filming there.
Season 3 production started on March 9, 2026 and continued through the summer. The show doubled its episode count from six episodes in Season 1 to 12 episodes for Season 2 and Season 3.
Tires comes from Gillis and McKeever’s production company Dad Sick Productions. Their first project together was Gillis’ stand-up special “Beautiful Dogs”.
