What Happened in Episode 3
Episode 3, which aired on July 22, balanced action and unexpected comedy. The episode began with Joo-Heon raiding the cursed sword tomb. This tomb was more dangerous than previous ones because the relic inside strongly disliked humans.
When Joo-Heon figured out which sword was real, the relic demanded he sacrifice 10 humans. He refused and chose a path of domination, forcing the sword to accept him as its master. The episode also showed his ruthless side when he left behind a selfish relic hunter who had betrayed innocent survivors inside the tomb.
After clearing the dungeon, Joo-Heon turned his attention to the prophecy relic and confronted Sasaki. Rather than a fight, the meeting took a funny turn. The moment Sasaki laid eyes on Joo-Heon, she developed a crush on him. The episode ended with the pair agreeing to go on a date.
What to Expect from Episode 4
Episode 4 will likely push the story forward with new challenges. A visual for the episode titled “Las Vegas Auction” has been released.
Sasaki could become Joo-Heon’s first major ally. Her knowledge and possession of the prophecy relic could make her one of the main character’s most valuable companions. The prophecy relic can predict future events, and episode 4 may reveal how much of the future can actually be changed.
More powerful tombs may begin appearing. The cursed sword tomb showed that every relic site operates under different rules inspired by myths and legends. Episode 4 is expected to introduce another dangerous dungeon with even more complex mechanics.

About the Original Story
Tomb Raider King began as a web novel written by Sanji Jiksong. It was serialized on Kakao’s digital comic platform KakaoPage starting on November 1, 2016. The story was later adapted into a webtoon (manhwa) by the artistic studio 3B2S.
The web novel has received 120 million views, and the webtoon has garnered 600 million views. The series has appeared on KakaoPage’s “Million Pages” in both formats.
The story takes place in an alternative modern world. In 2025, mysterious structures called “God’s Tombs” began appearing around the planet. Each tomb contains an ancient relic that grants supernatural powers.
The main character is Seo Joo-Heon, a tomb raider who was betrayed by his employer and left for dead. He is transported 15 years into the past by a god in the form of a crow. Armed with his years of experience and knowledge of future events, he sets out to raid every tomb first and become the “Tomb Raider King”.
The series has been compared to Solo Leveling because both protagonists seek revenge and use knowledge of future powers to grow strong quickly.
