Speaking on a podcast with Nidhi Vasandani, Oberoi said celebrities have a big responsibility because people listen to them and follow what they say. He made it clear that he would never support any protest without knowing the full facts.

Oberoi Questions Celebrities Over Protest Support

Suresh Oberoi said celebrities should find out who is actually behind any protest before they decide to support it publicly. He asked a simple question that got everyone’s attention.

“Are they all NEET students, or are there politicians, people throwing stones or people creating a ruckus? Until you know, how can you become so vocal? If I don’t know about something, I won’t speak about it.”

The veteran actor stressed that being a public figure comes with responsibility. He said the world listens to celebrities and follows what they say, so they should be careful before sharing their views.

Oberoi also pointed out that there might be people with different motives at the protests. He questioned whether everyone present was actually a student or if there were politicians and troublemakers mixed in.

Oberoi Questions Funding and Foreign Involvement

Suresh Oberoi also raised questions about where the money for the protests was coming from. He said he had read reports about funding and foreign involvement in the demonstrations.

“How many stories are coming out, where is the funding coming from, who is getting it? You read about it every day. There are even names of actors who are taking funding money.”

He referred to a US Embassy advisory that was issued on July 17, 2026, warning American citizens about possible disruptions in central Delhi on July 20 and 21. Oberoi said this showed that foreign agencies knew about the protests beforehand.

‘My Job is Acting, Not Activism’

Suresh Oberoi made it very clear that he does not support violent protests. He said he would never participate in any protest because his job is acting, not activism.

“I will never go for any protest. My job is acting, so I will act. What is the point of becoming an activist?”

He also criticised people who use violence during protests. Oberoi said there are proper ways to demand things and violence is not acceptable.
