Prime Video has confirmed that Alliance Season 2 will premiere on January 14, 2027, with Kunal Kemmu returning as host. The announcement was made on September 30, 2026, nearly two months after the first season’s finale. The competitive reality series, which is the Indian adaptation of a Dutch format, will welcome 16 new celebrity contestants into its mysterious headquarters for another round of strategy, shifting loyalties, and high-stakes gameplay.
Release Date and Streaming Platform
Alliance Season 2 will stream exclusively on Prime Video starting January 14, 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a playful message from the makers: “System Alert: New alliances loading. More drama to make, more alliances to break.”
The new season arrives just months after Season 1 concluded its six-week run. Prime Video described the quick turnaround as a direct response to the strong reception and viewer engagement the first season received. New episodes will continue the daily release pattern, streaming fresh content every day at noon.
For global audiences, Alliance is available on Prime Video in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide. The show is a Hindi-language production, making it accessible to viewers in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and other regions where Prime Video operates. Subtitles and dubbed versions are typically available for international audiences on the platform.
Kunal Kemmu Returns as Host
Kunal Kemmu is back as the host of Alliance Season 2. The actor made his debut as a reality show host with the first season, where he brought his distinct humour and personality to the mysterious HQ.
“Alliance has a very particular energy to it. The challenge with bringing back a format that audiences have embraced so quickly is to preserve what made it feel fresh in the first place, while finding new ways to surprise them,” said Mrinalini Jain, Group Chief Development Officer, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India. “We’re also delighted to have Kunal Kemmu return. He brought a distinct personality and sense of humour to the HQ in Season 1, and we’re excited to see him take audiences through what is an even more unpredictable game this time around.”
Kunal Kemmu’s role as host involves guiding contestants through a game controlled by “The System,” a mysterious entity that oversees the challenges and twists inside the headquarters.
What Happened in Season 1
Alliance Season 1 premiered on June 26, 2026, and became Prime Video’s first-ever daily reality series globally. The show placed 16 celebrity contestants — known as “Allies” — inside a mysterious underground headquarters run by “The System.”
The contestants arrived as eight pairs and were split into four teams: Kings, Warriors, Legends, and Hunters. They competed in physical, knowledge-based, and strategic tasks while maintaining alliances and protecting their positions. Team rankings could change rapidly, while weekly eliminations put weaker groups under pressure.
The original pairs featured:
- Ravi Kishan and Riva Kishan
- Kushal Tandon and Arslan Goni
- Zaid Darbar and Daisy Shah
- Mini Mathur and Nikhil Chinapa
- Ruhee Dosani and Niti Taylor
- Vanshaj Singh and Dolly Javed
- Payal Gaming (Payal Dhare) and Sabby Suri
- Delbar Arya and Armaan Khera
The competition later expanded with wildcard entries, including Aly Goni. In the finale, Mini Mathur defeated Aly Goni and Ruhee Dosani to win the season. Aly finished as the first runner-up, while Ruhee took the second runner-up position. Mathur won the Rs 50 lakh prize.
What to Expect in Season 2
Prime Video has promised a tougher version of the game for Season 2. The platform teased “higher stakes, sharper gameplay, more drama, and an evolved ‘System’ that will test the Allies like never before.”
“The response to Alliance Season 1 validated what we always believed, that Indian audiences are ready for a smarter form of reality entertainment. The show didn’t just find an audience; it created a community of viewers who were invested in every move, every alliance, and every shift in the game,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video, India. “We are bringing back Season 2 sooner, with higher stakes, sharper gameplay, more drama, and an evolved ‘System’ that will test the Allies like never before.”
Deepak Dhar, Founder and Group CEO, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, added: “Alliance is a format that asks a very simple question: when the rules keep changing, who can keep their head in the game? That tension between strategy and human behaviour is what made Season 1 so compelling, and it is also what gives us so much room to evolve the show. For Season 2, we’ve gone back to that core and found new ways to test the Allies, not just through the challenges, but through the choices they make and the relationships they build.”
The new season will introduce 16 new Allies to the mysterious HQ. Further details about the contestants and gameplay for Alliance Season 2 are yet to be announced.
Format and Production
Alliance is the Indian adaptation of the Dutch reality format created by John de Mol and produced by Banijay Asia. The show is a competitive captive reality series that blends high-stakes strategy, economy, and psychological warfare.
Sixteen celebrities are split into four teams, battling through challenges while navigating shifting loyalties and secret missions. The game is controlled by “The System,” which introduces unexpected twists and turns throughout the competition. Weekly votes and regular resets keep the contestants on edge, forcing them to rebuild alliances and adapt to changing rules.
The first season was Prime Video’s first daily reality series globally, with fresh episodes streaming every day at noon. The show’s success led to the quick renewal for a second season.
