What to Remember Before Watching Episode 1
The premiere episode is titled “The Training Begins”. Shiki and the other students of Rasetsu Academy face a brutal mountain climbing exercise. The entire class must reach the goal together within 24 hours, trapped in a freezing blizzard. Part-time instructors Hagure Nekosaki and Yu Innami are brought in to push the students to their limits.
The story picks up after the intense battles in Kyoto and Nerima. Ikari Yaoroshi leaves the academy to join the radical Oni Brigade, drawn to its goal of completely wiping out the Momotaro. Shiki discovers that the Oni Brigade also targets noncombatants, and he sets out with Mudano and the other students to bring Yaoroshi back.
Their pursuit leads them to Nikko, where Kegon Falls has stopped flowing. A massive research facility has been built at the site, hiding a dark secret: horrific experiments are being conducted on Oni inside its walls.
