BLACKPINK has announced their 2025 Deadline World Tour, but the news has stirred mixed reactions among fans. The tour, set to begin on July 5, 2025, in Goyang, South Korea, will visit major cities across Asia, North America, and Europe before concluding in Tokyo on January 18, 2026.

The tour’s name, “Deadline,” has caused controversy. Some fans believe it hints at the group’s possible disbandment, while others see it as a playful choice. The lack of visible preparations, such as rehearsals or new music teasers, has added to the speculation.

Yet, many others took the name in a different direction, with some believing it is alluding to the group disbanding. “Deadline” tends to mean the latest time something has to be completed by, and some netizens thought it meant it literally, with the last date of BLACKPINK activities, with the members focusing on solo activities.

Some joked that they probably knew the meaning and that it was just the members taking advantage and trolling fans as the “disbandment” allegations have been circulating since the members focused on solo activities after leaving YG Entertainment.

Despite concerns, the tour is expected to be a major event. Additional shows were added in London, Paris, New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles due to high demand. The group will perform in stadiums, including Wembley Stadium, making them the first K-pop girl group to headline there.

BLACKPINK’s last group album was “Born Pink” in 2022, and fans are eager for new music. While the members have been busy with solo projects, they confirmed their commitment to the group. Lisa stated, “Of course we’re continuing, for sure… I love BLACKPINK”.

The tour will feature solo performances from Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé, alongside group hits like “How You Like That” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU”. Tickets for most shows are already on sale, with VIP packages offering early entry and exclusive merchandise.

“We just knew there was no reason for us to stop it, right?” Rosé said about the group’s reunion. “We’ve got to do some more damage.” She also hinted at new music coming soon.

While disbandment rumors persist, BLACKPINK’s contract renewal for group activities with YG Entertainment ensures they will continue performing together. The members have separate agencies for solo work but remain united for BLACKPINK projects.

The Deadline World Tour marks BLACKPINK’s fourth concert tour and their first stadium tour. It follows their record-breaking Born Pink World Tour, which had 66 shows across multiple countries.

Fans can expect high-energy performances, elaborate staging, and possibly new songs. The group has a history of breaking records, and this tour could be another milestone in their career.
