The highly anticipated THE BLAZE world tour by popular boy group THE BOYZ has been thrown into uncertainty after the sudden cancellation of nearly half its scheduled concerts. A new wave of cancellations announced in early October has left fans across Asia disappointed and sparked serious concerns about the tour’s management and the group’s future activities.

A Growing List of Cancellations

On October 5, the group’s agency, ONE HUNDRED LABEL, announced the cancellation of the Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok stops of the tour. The Kuala Lumpur concert was scheduled for October 18, while the Bangkok show was set for November 1. This announcement followed closely after the previously revealed cancellations of the Macau and Taipei stops on September 25.

These four recent cancellations, combined with the earlier cancellation of an Oakland, California date and another unspecified city, bring the total number of canceled tour stops to six out of an originally planned fifteen. This means that 40% of the tour’s scheduled concerts will not take place. The group recently completed the Japan leg of the tour, and with these cancellations, the only remaining international date is the Jakarta, Indonesia concert on November 8. The tour began in Seoul in June.

Official Statements and Fan Reactions

The agency’s official announcement provided a straightforward notification of the cancellations. The English statement from ONE HUNDRED read:

โ€œWe want to inform you that THE BOYZโ€™s member Joo Hak Nyeon will temporarily halt activities due to personal reasons. We apologise for causing concern to the fans with the sudden news and ask for your generous understanding.โ€

For the canceled shows, official event organizers have outlined refund procedures. In Malaysia, IME Malaysia stated that fans who bought tickets through official channels would automatically receive a full refund through their original payment method within 30 working days, requiring no further action. A similar automatic refund policy was announced for the canceled Oakland show, with refunds expected within 7 to 10 business days.

However, the lack of a detailed public explanation for the widespread cancellations has led to frustration among the group’s fanbase, known as Deobis. Many have taken to social media to express their concerns, with their posts highlighting a sense of confusion and disappointment.

One fan expressed the collective frustration online, writing, “The Blaze world tour canceled 6 out 15 cities for no reason at all. This entire tour has been the messiest one. The result is both THE BOYZ and Deobis suffering.”

Another fan voiced concern for the members themselves, posting, “I feel so sorry for THE BOYZ, for everything they have to witness behind the scenes and see their own company sabotage their entire career.” The sentiment that the group is being poorly managed was echoed in another comment that read, “The company is really making it hard for the fans to stay in the fandom. It’s only been months and the trust is already broken.”

Behind the Scenes: Possible Reasons for the Troubles

While official reasons remain vague, reports and industry observers have pointed to several potential factors disrupting the tour. Some cancellations, particularly in the United States, have been attributed to low ticket sales. The Oakland stop at the Paramount Theatre was canceled due to “unfounded circumstances,” with reports noting that the group was not the first to cancel or change dates in the U.S. market.

For the more recent cancellations in Asia, reports suggest the issue may be a conflict between the boy group’s agency and the concert organizers for the affected cities. This points to potential logistical or contractual problems behind the scenes. The tour has been plagued by issues from the beginning, including not only cancellations but also last-minute venue changes and rescheduling for some cities.

Background on THE BOYZ and Recent Activities

THE BOYZ is currently an eleven-member group under ONE HUNDRED LABEL. The active lineup includes Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric. Member Ju Hak-nyeon is currently on a break from activities due to personal reasons, a hiatus that was announced back in June. The group is known for their complex and synchronized choreography.

The group released their third full studio album, “Unexpected,” on March 17 of this year. This album was their first under their new agency, One Hundred Label. The tour troubles come after the group faced other challenges earlier in the year, including dating rumors involving a member and public scrutiny over another member’s alleged mistreatment of staff.

The Kuala Lumpur stop would have marked the group’s second performance in Malaysia, following a well-received show last year that attracted over a thousand fans. With most international dates now canceled, the future schedule for THE BLAZE world tour remains unclear beyond the final confirmed show in Jakarta.
