The mystery of Glep is finally solved in the Smiling Friends season three finale. The episode named “The Glep Ep” answered a big question fans have had for years. But when the credits rolled, another character had the final word. In a classic post-credits scene, the fan-favorite Party Bro delivers the last line of the season.

The finale episode, which aired on November 30, 2025, puts the small green creature Glep in the spotlight. It explains his mysterious past and his very important role at the company. After the main story ends, a bonus scene shows the Rotoscope guy finishing a prayer with others saying “amen.” Immediately after, Party Bro jumps in with a cheerful shout.

“Bye, have a great night!”

This funny sign-off is a direct joke for animation fans. It references the Underdog Productions logo that appears at the end of every episode of American Dad, which features a similar upbeat farewell. Creators Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack confirmed they have found their creative groove in season three, mixing plot with their signature absurd humor.

What “The Glep Ep” Revealed About The Green Mystery

The entire finale was built around one simple office question: what does Glep actually do? The episode starts with Mr. Boss doing yearly reviews for the Smiling Friends staff. He praises Pim and Charlie for making people smile and Allan for his office work. But when it’s Glep’s turn, nobody can explain his job. Mr. Boss realizes Glep just sits on a beanbag watching videos all day.

This leads to a confrontation. Mr. Boss finds Glep and demands to know his purpose at the company.

“What do you actually do around here, man? Name one thing,” Mr. Boss asks.

Glep responds with his usual gibberish, which makes Mr. Boss even angrier. He fires Glep on the spot. The little green creature, feeling insulted, quits first and smashes his iPad before storming out.

Glep’s Lonely Journey And Ancient History

After getting fired, Glep’s life gets worse. He goes home to his large mansion, but his wife Marge Simpson is also leaving. She says she is tired of being ignored and is going to visit her family for the holidays. Alone and sad, Glep goes to a bar.

There, the bartender asks for his ID. His driver’s license shows a shocking fact: Glep was born in 329 AD. This means the small office creature is over 1,695 years old. This discovery triggers a series of flashbacks showing Glep’s long and chaotic history.

The flashbacks reveal Glep was accidentally involved in major world events:

  • 476 AD, Rome: Glep was brought before Emperor Romulus Augustulus for stealing apples. When asked why he should be spared, Glep did his happy dance. The dance drove the emperor insane, causing him to jump out a window. This event is shown as a reason for the fall of the Roman Empire.
  • 1347 AD, England: Glep was accused of witchcraft for turning milk into yogurt. As he was about to be burned at the stake, he coughed up a black substance. This accidentally spread the Black Plague to the crowd.
  • 1777 AD, Virginia: Glep was awkwardly hanging out with America’s Founding Fathers like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. His strange story made everyone uncomfortable, and they all left.

These scenes paint Glep as a lonely figure who has never fit in anywhere throughout history. At the bar, another patron recognizes Glep as the one who started the plague and kicks him out.

The Big Twist: Glep Co-Founded Smiling Friends

The most important flashback happens in 1992. A young Glep meets a homeless and deeply depressed Mr. Boss. Mr. Boss had lost everything in a market crash and was holding a gun to his head, ready to end his life.

Glep, trying to help, does his same happy dance for Mr. Boss. Miraculously, it makes Mr. Boss smile. This moment of joy gives Mr. Boss a new idea.

He decided to start a business to make other miserable people smile.

Mr. Boss shook Glep’s hand, and together they founded the Smiling Friends company. Glep was not just a lazy employee; he was the original co-founder. This revelation changes everything about his character and why he has a fancy car and a mansion.

Chaos Without Glep And A Christmas Dinner

After remembering his past, Glep returns to the Smiling Friends office. He finds the place in total chaos. Pim is taped to the ceiling with a blank stare. Allan is screaming and running in circles. Charlie is dried up and covered in rats. Mr. Boss emerges with several arrows stuck in his body.

Mr. Boss immediately apologizes. He says he forgot why he hired Glep in the first place and asks him to come back to work. Glep also apologizes for not actually working and agrees to return.

The episode ends with a weird Christmas dinner for the team and their loved ones, styled like the famous “Last Supper” painting. Glep’s wife Marge returns and apologizes by cooking him a strange green and purple dish with fish bones, which he happily eats. A narrator tries to give a heartfelt ending but gets into an argument with Charlie about a vague comment he made, leaving the finale on a typically absurd note.

Party Bro’s Post-Credits Punchline

After the dinner scene and the argument with the narrator, the episode seems to end. But fans who keep watching are treated to a post-credits scene. It goes back to the Rotoscope guy, who is seen finishing his prayer from earlier in the season. The people with him say “amen,” and then Party Bro suddenly appears.

Party Bro, a character known for causing trouble, happily delivers the line that closes out season three: “Bye, have a great night!”. This moment is a signature Smiling Friends jokeโ€”taking a small, weird character and giving him a big punchline. It also serves as a clever nod to other adult cartoons, wrapping up a season full of historical flashbacks and character reveals with a simple, silly goodbye.

The show has been officially renewed for two more seasons, and the creators say they are having more fun than ever writing new episodes.
