Wednesday Season 2 has completed its run on the Netflix Top 10 charts, securing its place as the fourth most-watched English-language series in the streamer’s history. The show’s second season amassed 928.5 million hours watched, which equals roughly 119.3 million views, during its first 91 days of availability.

The season was released in two parts: Volume 1 debuted on August 6, 2025, and Volume 2 followed on September 3, 2025. While this performance is historic, it represents a notable drop from the record-shattering numbers of Season 1, which remains Netflix’s most-watched English-language series ever.

How Season 2’s Viewership Compares to Season 1

The final numbers for Wednesday Season 2 show a significant decrease compared to its first season. Season 1 gathered 1,718.8 million hours watched, translating to 252.1 million views in its first 91 days.

This means Season 2 saw a 52% drop in total views and a 45% drop in viewing hours compared to Season 1. Industry observers note this drop was expected, as the first season was a massive global phenomenon that benefited from a strong release window over the 2022 holiday season. Despite the decline, the show’s ability to still rank among Netflix’s all-time top five demonstrates its powerful and enduring fanbase.

The Current Netflix All-Time Top 10 List

With Season 2’s run complete, the updated ranking of Netflix’s most-watched English-language TV series is now clear.

  1. Wednesday (Season 1)
  2. Adolescence
  3. Stranger Things (Season 4)
  4. Wednesday (Season 2)
  5. DAHMER
  6. Bridgerton (Season 1)
  7. The Queenโ€™s Gambit
  8. Bridgerton (Season 3)
  9. The Night Agent (Season 1)
  10. Fool Me Once

This ranking cements the Wednesday franchise’s dominance, with both of its seasons holding spots in the top four.

A Look Back at Season 2’s Premiere and Story

Wednesday Season 2 returned to much fanfare, with its first four episodes quickly becoming a global hit. In its first week, Season 2, Part 1 reached the number one spot on Netflix in 91 countries, setting a record for an English-language title.

The story saw Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams return to Nevermore Academy for a second year, where her school and family lives collided. This season featured expanded roles for the Addams family, including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzmรกn as Gomez, and introduced new characters like Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump.

“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries,” said co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

The season also featured a notable cameo from Lady Gaga, though the specifics of her role were kept under wraps before release.

What’s Next for Wednesday and Nevermore Academy

Despite the viewership dip, the future for Wednesday is secure. Netflix had already renewed the series for a third season in July 2025, prior to the Season 2 premiere.

Production on Season 3 is in active development, with pre-production expected to start soon and filming reportedly eyeing a February 2026 start date. A major casting announcement has already been made: Eva Green has been confirmed to join the cast as Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s sister, who was hinted at in the Season 2 cliffhanger. The next major data update for the series will come when Netflix releases its full engagement report for the second half of 2025.
