A well-known agent from the world of Spider-Man is making a move to the West Coast. Actor Arian Moayed will bring his Marvel character to the upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man. This detail was shared in the Winter 2025 issue of Disney’s official D23 magazine.
Moayed plays Agent P. Cleary, an officer with the Department of Damage Control. Fans saw him last in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Ms. Marvel series. In those stories, he was an authority figure investigating super-powered events in New York. His arrival in Wonder Man confirms this new series has strong links to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Who Is Agent P. Cleary And Why Is He In Los Angeles?
Agent Cleary works for the Department of Damage Control, or DODC. This government agency handles the mess and danger left behind after battles involving superheroes and villains. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Cleary questioned Peter Parker and his friends, believing Spider-Man was a threat. He later showed up to monitor Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel.
According to the D23 magazine, Cleary’s appearance in Wonder Man is not a simple visit. The agent has been reassigned from the East Coast to Los Angeles for an official mission. This move places him directly in the path of the show’s main characters.
“He has been reassigned to Los Angeles. There’s fun in the way he interacts with Trevor and Simon, but he also has a job to do as a member of the DODC,” the magazine stated.
This means Cleary will cross paths with Simon Williams, the aspiring actor played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Trevor Slattery, the actor portrayed by Ben Kingsley. While the interactions might be funny, Cleary’s presence signals that Simon’s activities have drawn serious government attention.
How The Cameo Connects To Simon Williams’ Story
The arrival of a DODC agent tells us important details about Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man. If a federal agency that tracks superhuman incidents is watching him, it suggests Simon’s powers are not a new development. He may have had them for some time, long enough to cause an incident that registered on the DODC’s radar.
This connection makes Simon’s origin story more interesting. In the comics, Simon Williams gets his ionic powers from Baron Zemo. The show’s trailer hints that Simon is hiding his abilities while trying to land the lead role in a movie about the superhero “Wonder Man”. Agent Cleary’s investigation could force Simon’s secret into the open, creating major problems for his acting career and his life.
A Bigger Marvel Universe Link Through The Director
The connection to Spider-Man runs deeper than just a cameo. Destin Daniel Cretton, the creator and a director of Wonder Man, is also directing the next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
Cretton’s work on both projects creates a natural bridge between them. His involvement suggests that the stories and characters in Wonder Man could have implications for the future of Spider-Man’s world. While it’s unclear if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will appear, the inclusion of a key DODC agent shows the series is woven into the same continuity.
