The online fight between two conservative commentators Laura Loomer and Candace Owens took a new turn. Loomer claims she is the reason why Owens’ lawyer left a major defamation lawsuit.

The case involves French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. They are suing Candace Owens for saying the First Lady of France was born male. Owens has repeated these claims on her podcast for months without providing proof. Now, a lawyer connected to former President Donald Trump has stopped representing Owens in court.

Lawyer Marc Kasowitz Leaves Owens Defense Team

Marc Kasowitz, a lawyer who has worked with Donald Trump for many years, filed papers to leave the case on April 21, 2026. The court documents did not give a specific reason for his departure.

Loomer saw this as a big win. She posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Kasowitz left because she “exposed” Owens. Loomer pointed out that Owens hired a Jewish lawyer who supports Israel. According to Loomer, this is “hypocrisy” because Owens often criticizes Zionists and makes comments about Jewish people on her show.

The court case is officially listed as Macron v. Owens in Delaware’s Superior Court.

Loomer Accuses Owens of Hiding Millions

The fight did not stop with the lawyer leaving. Loomer has been digging into Owens’ personal money. She says Owens is hiding nearly $12 million in real estate inside a secret trust. Loomer wants to help the Macron family find these assets.

Loomer also questioned why Owens suddenly canceled her show. On April 23, Owens told her fans she was pausing her show to travel with her family. Loomer responded by suggesting Owens might be “fleeing the country” to avoid legal problems.

“Interesting how she’s fleeing the country the same day I reported that her Zionist Jewish lawyer dropped her ahead of an important deadline in her lawsuit with the Macrons next week.” – Laura Loomer on X

What the Lawsuit Is About

The Macrons filed their defamation lawsuit against Owens in July 2025. They are asking for money damages. Their lawyers say Owens turned their lives into “fodder for profit-driven lies.” The lawsuit describes Owens’ actions as a “relentless and unjustified smear campaign.”

Brigitte Macron is a grandmother and a former teacher. Owens has claimed on her YouTube channel, which has over 4 million subscribers, that the First Lady is secretly a transgender woman. Owens once wrote that she would “stake her entire professional reputation” on this claim being true.

The Macrons argue that Owens knew these claims were false but kept repeating them to get more views and make more money.

Trump Also Criticized Owens

Earlier in April 2026, Donald Trump himself called out Candace Owens. On his Truth Social platform, Trump called Owens “crazy.” He said her story about Brigitte Macron was false and that the First Lady is “a far more beautiful woman” than Owens.

Trump added that he hopes the Macrons “win lots of money” in the lawsuit. Laura Loomer celebrated Trump’s comments, calling them “incredible.”

Owens Remains Defiant

Despite losing her high-profile lawyer and facing criticism from the president, Owens has not backed down. She has said in the past that she is “not shutting up” because of what she called “bullying” by politicians.

Her legal team now includes Richards, Layton & Finger PA, Noah Balch Law PC, and Horwitz Law PLLC. The case continues to move forward in the Delaware court system.
