The MGM+ horror series From has kept viewers guessing since it first aired in 2022. With each new episode, the mystery of the nightmarish town that traps everyone who enters gets deeper. Season 3 ended with huge reveals about reincarnation and time travel, but many fans believe the show has been hinting at overlapping timelines from the very beginning. Here are five major clues that suggest the Town operates on multiple timelines at once.

The Bracelet That Keeps Showing Up in Impossible Places

One of the strangest recurring objects in From is a handmade bracelet. Tabitha Matthews made this bracelet for her husband Jim years before they ever got trapped in the Town. The bracelet has unique imperfections that should make it one of a kind. Yet the same bracelet keeps appearing in places it should not be.

Victor’s father, Henry, keeps a similar bracelet in his car. He claims his wife Miranda made it for him before she disappeared into the Town with their children decades ago. When Tabitha finds this bracelet in Henry’s glove compartment, she is shocked. It looks exactly like the one she made for Jim.

This clue points toward overlapping realities. The bracelet exists in both the real world and the Town across different time periods. Some fans think Tabitha is actually the reincarnation of Miranda, which would explain why they both made the same bracelet. Others believe the Town pulls objects and people from different time periods into the same space.

The Ambulance That Already Existed in Town

Season 3 delivered a mind-bending moment involving an ambulance. Earlier in the series, Kristi mentions that the town’s medical supplies came from an abandoned ambulance they found. The ambulance had clearly been there for some time. Then at the end of Season 3 Episode 3, Tabitha and Henry arrive in the Town inside an ambulance that crashes after hitting the fallen tree.

Fans quickly noticed the connection. One Reddit user wrote: “Remember how Kristi said they got medical supplies from an ambulance they found? And now the ending of Season 3 Episode 3?! Omg my brain. They must be connected. So Tabitha must be there in a prior timeline.”

Another viewer pointed out a hidden detail: it is not snowing at the fallen tree when the ambulance arrives, even though it is winter in the current Town timeline. This suggests the ambulance entered the Town at a different point in its timeline, possibly before the snow started.

Julie’s Time Travel Ability Confirmed in Season 3

The strongest evidence for overlapping timelines comes from Julie Matthews. In Season 3 Episode 8, Julie discovers she can “storywalk” – travel through time within the Town’s boundaries. She visits the dungeon where Martin is held captive and experiences events from different moments in the Town’s history.

Creator John Griffin confirmed that Julie’s ability is real time travel, not just visions. The Season 3 finale shows Julie trying to change past events, though she learns that some things cannot be undone. This ability means the Town does not operate on a single, linear timeline. Past, present, and future can overlap and interact with each other.

The 1864 Date and the Bottle Tree Mystery

The bottle trees scattered around the Town contain pieces of paper with numbers written on them. When Jade and Tabitha investigate one of these trees, they find a date: 1864. This date is far older than any known resident of the Town.

Boyd Stevens and Sara found the bottle tree during their journey into the forest in Season 1. The presence of such an old date suggests the Town has been operating for much longer than anyone realizes. It also implies that people have been trapped there for centuries, not just decades.

Some theorists believe the numbers in the bottles form a musical melody when played as notes. Jade discovers this in Season 3, and the music summons the “Anghkooey” children. The existence of a coded message that only certain people can understand points to a system designed to work across multiple timelines.

The Root Cellar Trap Door and the Lost Connection

In Season 3 Episode 9, Fatima discovers a trap door hidden beneath the dirt floor of the root cellar where she is being held. The door has a chain attached to it, and Fatima tries desperately to open it. The Kimono Woman stops her before she can succeed.

This trap door strongly mirrors a famous moment from Lost, another show created by Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner. In Lost Season 1, characters discover a hatch buried in the jungle that leads to a whole new layer of mystery. The hatch ultimately revealed that the island contained hidden structures and people who had been there for years without anyone knowing.

The trap door in From likely serves a similar purpose. It may lead to underground tunnels where the monsters sleep, or it could open into a completely different time period within the Town. Some fans think a new character could be living down there, like Desmond in Lost, someone who has been trapped in a different timeline all along.

What These Clues Mean for Season 4

From has been renewed for Season 4, set to air in 2026. Harold Perrineau, who plays Boyd, has said the new season brings a “rift and division” among the town’s residents. Boyd’s body is failing, and Tabitha and Jade are closer than ever to understanding the truth about their past lives.

The time travel elements introduced in Season 3 will likely play a major role in Season 4. Julie’s ability to storywalk could allow her to witness events from the Town’s past directly. She might see how the monsters were created or learn the real purpose of the “Anghkooey” children.

The overlapping timeline theory also raises a darker possibility. If multiple timelines exist at once, then some residents may already be dead in other versions of reality. Characters could encounter past or future versions of themselves. The Town may be trapping not just people from different places, but from different moments in time as well.

All episodes of From are available for streaming on MGM+. The series is accessible to viewers in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and India through various streaming partners.
