The upcoming romantic comedy Love in Sync brings together Kim Myung Soo (also known as L from INFINITE) and Kang Min Ah as two characters whose successful careers suddenly fall apart. The drama introduces a supernatural twist where the leads begin to share each other’s emotions.
Both Leads Hit Rock Bottom in Their Careers
Love in Sync tells the story of two people who could not be more different. Cha Eun Hwan (Kim Myung Soo) works as a psychological counselor. He is known for his extraordinary ability to understand others. His unique counseling method made him popular and sought-after.
Yoo Ji An (Kang Min Ah) is an A-list actress and former member of the girl group I WANT. She appears perfect on the outside but struggles to connect with others emotionally. Her acting career faces harsh criticism because she cannot show proper emotions in her roles.
Both characters find themselves in deep trouble. Yoo Ji An gets caught in an unexpected controversy. Public opinion turns against her. She gets labeled as a “power-tripping bully.” A scandal breaks out online that puts her career at risk. She also gets dropped from a project, falls victim to fraud, and suffers public humiliation.
Cha Eun Hwan faces a different but equally serious problem. The counseling method that made him famous now threatens his career. He receives a letter from the counselors’ association. He is at risk of losing his license due to ethical issues.
A Supernatural Connection Changes Everything
The two leads first meet when Yoo Ji An seeks out Cha Eun Hwan. She hopes he can help improve her acting skills. But something unexpected happens after their first meeting. Yoo Ji An suddenly develops the ability to read Cha Eun Hwan’s mind and feel his emotions.
The emotional transfer works both ways. Cha Eun Hwan also starts feeling Yoo Ji An’s emotions. This supernatural phenomenon forces both characters to face their hidden wounds. Yoo Ji An confesses to Cha Eun Hwan, “I can feel your emotions exactly as if they were my own. It’s like we’re sharing the same heart.”
The drama explores how sharing emotions helps both characters grow. The production team stated, “Cha Eun Hwan, who is in danger of having his counselor’s license revoked, and Yoo Ji An, who has been branded with the stigma of power abuse, will be caught up in a whirlwind of unending incidents. Please keep an eye on how they grow through these experiences.”
Supporting Cast Adds More Drama
Kwon So Hyun plays Han Yi Jin, Yoo Ji An’s rival. Han Yi Jin also transitioned from being an idol to an actress after their girl group disbanded. She holds resentment toward Yoo Ji An. In one scene, she says, “Back when we were idols, you were the successful center while I was the nobody. Now that the tables have turned, who’s the center and who’s the nobody?”
Cha Min Ji plays Cha Song Hwan, Cha Eun Hwan’s older sister. She warns that the two leads are “a match made in hell.” Son Ji Na plays Choi Jung Mi, Yoo Ji An’s mother, who seeks out Cha Eun Hwan and threatens him.
Cast Shares Their Thoughts on the Drama
Kim Myung Soo chose three keywords to describe his character: “flawless,” “empathy,” and “cool.” He explained, “Cha Eun Hwan is a professionally flawless character, and because he works as a counselor, he has a strong ability to empathize with others. On a personal note, I think he’s cool because there are many moments where he helps Yoo Ji An.”
The actor shared why he chose this role. “Most of the roles I’ve played in the past have been relatively heavy, so I really wanted the opportunity to show a romantic comedy this time. I found the idea of sharing and transferring other people’s emotions very interesting, and I was also drawn to the relationship between Cha Eun Hwan and Yoo Ji An.”
Kang Min Ah described the drama as “an all-you-can-eat buffet” because of its variety. “From life in the entertainment industry to romance and fantasy, the drama is filled with many interesting elements that come together in perfect harmony. I hope viewers will enjoy watching Yoo Ji An grow, both as a person and as an actress.”
Kwon So Hyun highlighted the drama’s emotional appeal. She said, “‘Love in Sync’ contains emotions that everyone can relate to: love, jealousy, and emotional scars. I hope viewers will connect with the characters while reflecting on the emotions in their own hearts.”
