Popular singer and Bigg Boss Telugu season 3 winner Rahul Sipligunj is facing legal trouble. A case has been filed against him and 11 others at a police station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The case follows a complaint from a woman who has accused the singer of threats and harassment connected to a marriage dispute.
The complaint also involves Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, who is reportedly a relative of the singer. The woman has alleged that Reddy deceived her by promising marriage and later blackmailed her.
Complaint Filed at Visakhapatnam Police Station
The case was registered at the MVP Colony Police Station in Visakhapatnam on August 11, 2026. The police have named Rahul Sipligunj along with 11 others in the First Information Report (FIR).
The complaint was filed by a woman who approached the police with serious allegations against the singer and his relatives. After the initial registration, the case was transferred to the Endada Women’s Police Station for further investigation.
Police have registered the case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. The investigation is currently ongoing, and officials are gathering statements from all parties involved.
What the Woman Alleged in Her Complaint
The woman has made several serious allegations in her complaint. She stated that Karpurapu Rahul Reddy introduced himself to her and promised to marry her. Based on this promise, she entered into a relationship with him.
Later, Reddy allegedly started blackmailing her using her personal photographs and videos. The woman also claimed that her private photos and videos were circulated on social media, which damaged her reputation.
The complaint further states that Rahul Sipligunj was introduced to her as a relative of Reddy. She alleged that Sipligunj threatened her during the dispute. The woman also claimed that she was forced to record video statements against her will.
She told the police that she was pressured to get married and that her privacy was violated. The woman also said that the entire situation had a negative impact on her reputation and personal life.
Police Action and Legal Charges
Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have taken action against Rahul Sipligunj and the others named in the FIR. The charges include criminal intimidation, blackmail, marriage fraud, and harassment.
The case also involves charges under the Information Technology Act. This is because the complaint includes allegations of cyber harassment and the circulation of private content on social media.

Who is Rahul Sipligunj?
Rahul Sipligunj is a well-known playback singer in the Telugu film industry. He gained international recognition for singing the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from the movie RRR.
He is also known for winning the third season of the reality show Bigg Boss Telugu in 2019. He took home the winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh. The Telangana government also announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore for his international achievement with “Naatu Naatu”.

This is not the first time the singer has been linked to a controversy. In March 2020, he was involved in a physical altercation at a pub in Hyderabad where he sustained head injuries after an argument with a group of people. In July 2018, he was also stopped by traffic police during a drunk-and-drive check in Hyderabad.
