On December 22nd, Yoon Jong Shin, a well-known South Korean singer and composer, shared a surprising update on his personal account, revealing his departure from South Korea. The post featured a photo of him with a suitcase, captioned simply, “Let’s go,” suggesting a journey for personal reflection.
Burnout and the Need for a Break
Yoon Jong Shin had earlier discussed his need for a hiatus on the variety show ‘Master in the House’. He confessed to experiencing burnout, stating, “For 20 years, I never took a break from broadcasting. Every week, people saw my face and heard my voice. While I was grateful, I also felt exhausted.” He explained his desire to step away from the public eye, clarifying that his burnout was not as severe as a panic disorder but significant enough to require a break.
Personal Experience and Growth
Yoon shared a poignant experience from his time abroad, mentioning an instance where he stopped at a rural rest area. He described the setting as cold and empty, which led to feelings of sadness but also provided him with a valuable emotional experience. “I spent nine months living under cold stares, and then back at the airport, I received familiar glances again. Strangely, the time I spent in unfamiliar places became a precious experience,” he reflected, highlighting the personal growth he achieved through this period of solitude.
Personal Life
Outside of his career, Yoon Jong Shin has been married to Jeon Mira, a former professional tennis player, since 2006. Together, they have three children: one son and two daughters.
