The Story and Cast of Wild Cherry
Wild Cherry was created, written, and partly acted in by BAFTA-winner Nicôle Lecky. The story is set in the fictional, gated community of Richford Lake, home to wealthy families where perfect lives hide dangerous secrets.
The plot centers on two best friends and their teenage daughters. Lorna, played by Carmen Ejogo, is a self-made businesswoman. Juliet, played by Eve Best, comes from old money. Their daughters, Grace and Allegra, are students at an elite private school. A scandal involving a provocative video and a secret messaging app called “The Catalogue” forces the mothers to confront difficult truths and threatens their friendship.
Nicôle Lecky, who also plays the character Gigi in the series, explained her inspiration for the show.
“One of the reasons I wrote Wild Cherry is because I used to drive through this private gated community in Surrey. I would look at these beautiful homes and mansions and think, ‘Who lives there?’” Lecky said. “I also knew I wanted to explore mothers and daughters and their relationships.”
The series looks at themes of privilege, social media pressure, and how far parents will go to protect their children.

- Episode 1: “Lewd Videos” – The seemingly perfect lives of families in Richford Lake are shaken when Grace and Allegra are accused by their school of filming a provocative video.
- Episode 2: “Girls Are More Responsible, and She Has Her Credit Card” – Juliet is forced into a dangerous lie, while Lorna confronts a hidden past. The police get involved when a girl named Iris goes missing.
- Episode 3: “Call It Mother’s Intuition or Whatever” – The hunt for Iris continues. Juliet grows closer to the enigmatic Gigi, and the girls’ secret app leads to serious consequences.
- Episode 4: “This Town Is Turning Me Crazy” – Explicit photos spread online, shocking the community. A wild party hosted by Gigi ends in tragedy.
- Episode 5: “Why Should We Be the Ones Shamed” – The community deals with the aftermath of tragedy. Mothers and daughters must decide whether to lie to protect themselves.
- Episode 6: “I Don’t Put Anything Past Teenage Girls” – The truth behind the scandal is finally revealed as the net closes in on Grace and Allegra.
